  24. March 1st was the deadline for the Zack Martin Breaking Barriers Grant. However, we will accept additional proposals until MONDAY, APRIL 3rd at 5pm. The details for the grant, due dates etc. are located on the AAC website. (See below for the specifics). The award this year will be $2,500 and we will be less concerned with high end alpine objectives and more focused on the humanitarian component of the grant . Both the alpine and humanitarian objectives must be met. If you are not interested but know somone that might like to apply....PLEASE forward this email. Zack Martin received several grants from the AAC, Anatoli Boukreev and others but he was never satisfied with only physical exploration. He wanted to explore the people, their customs and their hearts in an attempt to "give something back"......to...... "break barriers". This makes the grant unique and a most honorable cause. For more information or to download an application for this special grant please visit: http://www.americanalpineclub.org/knowledge/grants.asp Applications will only be accepted as electronic documents in MS Word or Adobe Acrobat (PDF). A hard copy with signatures may be mailed to the AAC. Please contact Jason Manke for more information regarding the application process. Jmanke@americanalpineclub.org (303) 384-0110 ext. 19.
