  1. I can only understand this opinion if you usually operate a cam supported on your hand palm. Otherwise, you have a loop for your thumb! Just like in another widely used cam brands. mike the flaw in the thumb design is that your thumb is pressing against a soft material, and its hard to figure out how to position your hand when the stem flares out at the end where the sling is. I have placed and led routes with pretty much every cam out there, using the thumb methtod. I will say that your cams place very well and seem to have great holding power in what other cams might have marginal placement. However, I cannot see using these until they have a better thumb rest for placing quickly on lead.
  2. Bill does that mean I should just post these babies up for sale in the yard sale and buying us some beer instead of giving them back?
  3. Not sure how many of you other pDx'rs got the groupon to club sport, I work like a block away and am looking for some belay partners. Lead or TR, if you dont have your lead cert....we will get it. Hit me back.
  4. Borrowed bills totem cams for some free climbing this weekend. They are terribly difficult to place on lead. I could see them being good for aid only. Getting them off your rack and your thumb on that stupid thumb trigger is dificult and time consuming. Wont purcahse them. But they did place well once they were situated in my hand propperly.
  5. Hey Ivan/Eric and I climbed Jensens Ridge this last weekend. When you finish the 11a pitch that makes you want to puke you are right below a set of double cracks that are crappy looking. Ivan/Eric explained that is the regular way to finish. To the left of these is a beautiful arcing and overhanging fist to hand crack that arc left to right and joins the standard finish. I climbed it and it was amazing....anyone else wanna help with a grade? I didnt onsight so I beleive it would be harder to do it without hanging or falling. Thinking 10c/d?
  6. BEAUTIFUL week ahead....lets get some people out at rocky, carver, madrone.....ect. Who wants to rope up? TR or Lead. I cant today but would love to tuesday and wednesday!

  21. yeah thats what I thought at first, maybe they share the same start, but I think its about twenty feet right. I really wish there was a photo that shows RPM, and then the regular starts to O/S. I was pretty ripped at the time and I just was climbing, straight up! None of this meandering BS looking for gear, lol. But yeah I guess I deserve some shit for getting off track on the first pitch.
