  1. Goig budget on tools is one the worst things you can ever do..sure by second hand but go grab a bunch of tools at the stor and see what you like and dont like then try and find somes used tools..for instance the tools porter has I cannont stand, climbed on them a few times and to me their the worst tools on the market..but my parnter loves them..so be careful cause having a bad or slighty lame tool is the worst feeling in the world even worse if you only had to kick in another 100$ to have the best
  2. Yup!! Cheers to that!! These two shots are awesome, clearly showing the change form El Nino to La Nina Warm water off the coast of S America bringing rain and crappy fishing from Jan 07 Cold Water now and the formation of La Nina at the end of September 07
  3. Keep in mind thats over a year old and we went in El Nino after that..the reason why the 06 cold event was not classified as La Nina is that it didnt occur for more than 5 consecutive overlapping seasons Check this more recent link, scroll to page 21,22,23 NOAA Ya it seems that moderate La Nina is highly probably but that doesnt nessecarily mean a big snowpack just that the La Nina event increases our chances at having severe weather or lots of snow
  4. Keep in mind this is a forecast...not a guarantee La Nina MAY give us a good winter, last year was El Nino and Whistler saw 46 feet of snow..thats 400 cm above normal. We are not in La Nina yet we are still below the temperature threshhold..at least according to the most recent data I could find, and this is forecast to be a weak to moderate La Nina. The last La Nina brought Whister less than average snowfall, only 800 cm as opposed to the average of 1000 cm. Would be intersting to see other mountain totals during La Nina and El Nino years
  5. Also have a look at the surface charts and see where the low forms not the jet stream track..yes some energy from the typhoon will get entrained here NCEP MSLP Cheers
  6. So Hef..where are the winds coming from in your picture...? From the....SW..right..so ideally for low freezing levels we would want it from the NW like the La Nina pics in the LA Nina Doom thread..so ideally we would have the jet shifted East. your right that its not a pineapple express but it does have warm SW flow. For an express we need the upper low which is over the charlottes in your pic over the Hawaiin islands.
  7. ya but you have to be under 25 as well, and you need to do it with a group of four

  11. You people are crazy...3 feet of snow, come on...anyways wait till you see whats brewing for next week. "WATCHING WITH GREAT INTEREST AND CONCERN THE EVOLUTION OF A POWERFUL LOW CENTER OVER THE NE PAC ON TUESDAY. HAS BEEN A LOT OF TROPICAL ACTIVITY IN THE WEST PAC LATELY. LOOKS LIKE THE ENERGY FROM A SUBTROPICAL-LOOKING LOW CURRENTLY NORTH OF THE MARIANAS WILL GET ENTRAINED INTO THE UNSEASONABLY STRONG MID-LATITUDE WESTERLIES."
  12. Damn rights..gotta love BC for not havin that crap
  13. No the prosecutor suggested a lower fine
  14. No you see the idea is to lie and not get caught not lie and get caught..some people never figure it out. Anyways you cant plead guilty then proceed to argue the law...doesnt work that way. What you can do is plead guilty and ask to have the fine reduced, based on the fact that you are a student. Which sounds like what was all set up for you.. Sucks but a hundred bones each aint so bad..maybe next time just say you went for a wee day time walk
  15. The problem is I feel a potential seizure coming on from all the flashing it does everytime I load up a page..I have to quickly scroll down so it doesnt flash in my eye.

  20. I have a close friend who works in some resorts in interlaken and last time we talked he said every euro has been really jealous about our ski seasons..and this year while riding WB quite a few times all I ran into was Euro's who said their seasons have really sucked. I believe the premier resort, cant remeber the name, in the Pyrenees didnt even open last winter or barely opened
  21. There hasnt been good snow below 2000m in a few years
  22. Probably low..but considering Europe has had lame seasons for a few years now and the euro is worth so much I doubt it will matter that there are less Americans.
  23. woops ya cents
