  1. Are there any shops in the area that do thermofitting for free? I picked up a set of boots/liners on here and they still have several fits on them and i was hoping to get them baked. I checked with Second Ascent but it was going to be $40 to do it. Thanks a bunch!
  2. nope. I missed the spead-reading course too.
  3. I doubt she must be bound to be interesting you don't think bound women are interesting?
  4. Unless she's over 30 How old are you Archie? And she's still under 30
  5. that's OK -- we used to think men under 30 were cool. then we realized how much work it is to train them *where's the whip cracking icon when i need it* I love women over 30 and pay extra for whip-cracking. Well then come right in and make yourself comfortable. Since when do you like them to be comfortable? Are you turning a new, softer more gentle, leaf in front of our very eyes? I always knew you were just a big softies!
  6. I don't know about best album but KT Tunstall, Eye to the Telescope is pretty good. Not exactly angry death metal, pretty up beat and slightly popish, but lyrically and musically interesting so it gets a big Besides, any chick that chinese and scottish is bound to be interesting!
  7. are you trying driving down my brain size?
  8. I don't think I like the tone of the title. How about we change it to "Promiscuos women cause men to be morons." All women, everywhere's right to complain about men is hereby revoked. It's your own damn fault afterall :fawk: And is the cause of the moral and intellectual decline in our society? I'd hate to think the religous right might be right about anything.

  10. I've got a buddy interested in coming out as well but won't be able to make it til 5:20ish. Shall we just push back the start time a bit and all meet at the Issaquah P&R at 5:20ish?
  11. Any interest in Wed. afternoon/evening?
  12. If you've got the discout anyway..... DMM Walnuts kick butt! (Not sure if the new ones kick as much butt as the older designs but the old ones ) Wild Country curve Hexes on Dyneema, are da bomb. Especially at Tieton. Tieton love's hexes! There's also just something very confidence inspiring about a nice hex placement that you could hang a small car off of. echo on the smallest 4 tri-cams. Good for funky shit, and double as stoppers just fine. Cams: Most of them are pretty good anymore. I like the new Costalots and DMM's (my cam of choice thanks to the friendly price and good performance) in the medium to large sizes, and Metolius TCU's in the smaller sizes. That's pretty much the order I picked stuff up in and it's worked out pretty well so far.

Yeah, but piglet's the ropegun. He's reach my suck but his strength to weight ratio is f'in huge!
  18. My sister and I always had a few basic chores, but could always do more at minimum wage. Seemed to work out pretty well plus the occasional hazard fee for sketchy bathrooms.
  19. Speak for youself! I'm fucking fantastic!
  20. On the supportive side; kids that age can be little shits. My wife didn't actually talk to her mom for about 2 years , though she was reasonably involved and focused even then and has a great relationship with them now. She was just being 13. I know when I was growing up I had very few expectations placed on me and lots of freedom to do what I wanted to. The upside was I had very little to rebel against, but that could easily backfire if he's in with the wrong crowd. The one big requirement is that I was never allowed to do anything half assed, but at the same time, success was never judged in terms of outside standards. If I worked my ass off and honestly put in the best effort I could then my parents were happy and proud. If he's seriously into, or wanting to be into, music maybe offer to foot part of the bill for his starting a band, and offer him the garage as practice space? Probably what he needs most is support, space, and stiff kick in the ass to get him off the couch, and an actual goal to work towards. If he's active and actually working towards some goal in some activity regardless of what it is he'll probably be ok. Your right though, the whole apathy thing is bad news, that's scarier than just about anything. I know we all have an outdoors bent on here, but were also climbers and therefore on the slightly freaky end of things. If he's not into it, trying to push him is just going to make him bitter. He's got to learn to love whatever he's doing for his own reasons. By all means keep offering to take him out, on your trips, or offer to go with him on his .
  21. No drytooling for me this week
  22. Did you replace it? Otherwise it's seems like a bit of a stretch between the bolt just below the lip above the pin, and the preceeding one. Getting up onto the ledge where the piton is is a bit awkward, and I know I appreciated having the pin there.
  23. I'm not a grad student anymore so bugger off
