  1. But you have to consider the extra effort required to haul a heavy pack vs. going with a day pack.
  2. I did this route a few years ago C2C. It is a great one in the right conditions. Go for it again if you get the chance!
  3. It was 65 degrees and sunny the last 3 days in 11worth. Just sayin'.
  4. Sobolewski singing b.g. vocals and playing bass on Dubai Blues: [video:youtube]9empUb4EB-0
  5. Or you could put a picture of the *other* Sobo: M. A. Sobolewski
  6. A few trips. Hoping to squeeze in liberty ridge in late june. I've got the TFT, Goode, and Whitney in my sights too.
  7. How many planets have you killed so far, Sobo?
  8. HI I NEED A PERMIT THANKS.
  9. That's fairly overstated and I think you know it. ahem
  10. Barry will have "more flexibility" after the elections
  11. I'm sure what the OP is asking is how consolidated the snow is, what to expect in terms of postholing, etc. Geez.
  12. I take 3 liters. One is gone within an hour or so as I drink the water diligently (almost forced) when heading out from camp. I've taken 2 liters + stove before, but it was on Adams/Adams glacier. We brought a JetBoil that time and melted water on the summit which was nice (1 liter per person)
  13. Plus ca change... [video:youtube]QvTXgG_teTU
  14. bill and rob could tag-team
  15. Spooning is OK - just no fork.
  16. I'm not sure where you are getting your information, but according tot the Olympic National Forest (where Mt Ellinor is located) website: "Leashed pets are allowed on trails in Olympic National Forest. " http://www.nps.gov/olym/planyourvisit/pets.htm Explain to me how I'm lying. You posted a link to the National Park website, not the National Forest information which is confusing (but lying? of course not). In general the NPS is very very strict about pets. The NFS allows them but is less strict. I would assume the TH has info stating the leash is required?
  17. Yeah, but so can women. touché And here I thought I was nice to you this morning, S . My bad.
  18. Yeah, but so can women. touché
  19. I saw a guy with a Beagel on top of Pugh a few years ago. He was leashed on the summit and full of energy, pulling on the leash constantly... too much energy after hiking 5300 feet up or whatever it is. To be a dog...
  20. I thought hippies didn't wash their clothes!
  21. First week in June is probably 50/50 odds for climbing most "normal" years in the Cascades. Last two years we had very deep snow pack and high avy risk several times in June (along with a "special advisory" on www.nwac.us). I'd recommend a backup plan if I were you, as this year will likely be the same.

  23. I hope the NPS rips out all those stupid asphalt walkways in the meadows at Paradise, and tears down the new visitor center too.
  24. for some reason I envision the label of your bottle depicting fat, ugly naked people riding bicycles...
