  1. Let's see, at the $300 limit ATMs generally have (I think), that will only take you about 575 years to collect!
  2. Shouldn't Limbaugh be charged? Isn't that a form of treason or something? You do realize that Madonna is the last name of the man they are quoting in the article, don't you?
  3. Uh, Type O Negative please
  4. From that blog: An 11-year-old boy has married his 10-year-old cousin in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mohammed al-Rashidi and his unidentified cousin will seal the marriage they contracted under the sharia laws of Islam and move in together after a ceremony to take place in the summer, Al-Shams newspaper reports today. “I am ready for this marriage. It will help me study better,” Mohammed, who goes to primary school in the northern province of Hail, was quoted as saying by Al-Shams. ...Dahim al-Jaber, the headmaster at Mohammed’s school, said marriage at such a young age was “inappropriate” but wished the couple a happy life together. Yes, kids should get married if it helps the boy study better. He is obviously ready and knows what marriage is all about over in Saudi!!
  5. It is pretty sickening, isn't it? And it further ligitimizes the social messaging to girls that their value lies in their tits n ass.
  6. Good point. One thing I have to say though: if she showed a fake ID that said she was 18, and the ID looked legit, I say tough crap to her. Ditto for people who have fake ID's in bars and then try to sue because they get in an accident or end up in the hosipital with alcohol poisoning. I have no problem with saying tough crap to a gal who shows a fake id to be included in a stupid video. What I think is sad is that so many people buy videos of teenage girls acting stupid. I've seen on of these videos and it made me want to throw up in my mouth. I like porn and I like erotica -- and Girls Gone Stupid in neither.
  7. Funny, in the article about this yesterday Francis made it sound like he bought her a ticket "himself" because he was such a great guy. There was no mention of her being underage. Now, this is the story: Francis said he bought Dupre a Greyhound bus ticket back home to North Carolina in 2003. Dupre returned home after she spent a week on the "Girls Gone Wild" bus in Miami and filmed seven full-length tapes, which included nudity, after signing legal papers, the company said. "It was because she was underage that he sent her home on a Greyhound bus back to North Carolina. It would be outrageous at the very least to play the video of an underage female on the Internet," Buchwald said in the e-mail. I love the "outrageous" part! Especially after the lawsuit against them.
  8. Yeah, it is so sad that our culture has come to this.
  9. "No, we cannot deliver Squishees to a residence"
  10. If Hillary gets the nomination, she will be crushed in the general election - not because of her being a weak candidate, but because of the split in the Democratic side. I think there is a chance this could happen if the delegate count is still very close going into the convention. Dumb question here... Do you mean to say that if Clinton gets the nomination that she wouldn't win b/c some Dems would vote for McCain rather than her? Or is it due to the delegate count? I don't know the process as well as I should, so I don't know if delegate counts change, get transferred, or what. People are motivated by Obama. They are putting their hearts and souls and emotions into his campaign. If he somehow loses - especially if he has a majority of delegates and/or popular vote, but Hillary seals the deal via "superdelegates" or some other nefarious scenario, I think it will piss off enough people to cause low voter turnout on the D side. And yes, some independents will go to McCain rather than Billary. This is all Spray-Speculation of course. I think it is great that people are motivated by Obama. And I hope that no matter how the election turns out, Obama served as a catalyst and not as the sole motivation. I would hope that once someone becomes active politically (in whatever way they chose to--help campaigns, vote, volunteer, etc) that they continue to act. If that is true, then those who supported Obama would probably still vote. And I would think that they would probably still vote Democrat. It will be interesting to watch and find out what happens...

  16. It is my dream to one day make it to Wacken in Germany (used to be Denmark, so I'll feel right at home with a bunch of drunken metalheads).
  17. You and I have the same music collection. Hell, I've seen almost all the bands you listed. (Hammerfall was only interesting because of the dude's hair). I'm sure you also have: Emperor Dimmu Borgir Massemord (not the new album) Carpathian Forest (fucking phenomenol) Immolation Meshuggah Naglefar Machines of Loving Grace Watain Mindrot ("Soul" is the best album I have ever heard in my life) Eyes on Fire (same singer from Mindrot, but music doesn't make you want to commit suicide) oh, i could go on...
  18. collectors.
  19. Funny, exactly what pussy is made of!!!

    Ode to Thai Tom

Amen on the Chile Relleno. Best ever is at Cuchina Esperanza at the very end of 85th street. They have two types. If you try the "traditional" first, your mouth will come and you will forever be faithful to that dish. They don't take reservations and the service is pleasingly slow. I love it there.

    Pub Club

liquor up front; poker in the rear. Do both at the same time, then I'll be impressed.
  23. Actually, Arch, I like metal. I like a variety of styles, and for several years I shunned rock in favor of jazz because it is more interesting, but I've always had a soft spot for crude and loud rock music that can only be called metal. My heroes? Jimi, of course. I'm 50. And I like freaks: Snakefinger, Zappa, and Sun Ra. Tad is my favorite from the Seattle sound, and I thnk Bad Motorfinger is the best album to come from that scene. I think that fits the "metal" mold. I like Metallica and Rage Against the Machine. But my post was really more about cc.com: we have lots of talk about metal bands kicking ass, and lots of links to heavy metal videos. I suspect that the average Joe poster, and even the average Joe sprayer, is not so fond of Slayer that they don't listen to anything else. Some of today's posts would support this hypothesis. Nobody "likes" metal. It's not like someone says, "Yeah, I was into that Slayer band for that one summer." People who are into metal fucking love it. They feel it in their very souls. And Slayer, Metallica et al is generally their jumping off point. Anyone who only mentions classic thrash bands is a poseur. But hey, to each his own. And Soundgarden is Grunge. They are not even close to metal. Same with Rage (except they suck). Oh, and I'll be at the Agalloch concert Friday. Hope to see you ambient metal fans there...
  24. Are you fuhq'n kiddin' me?? Female vocalists that I enjoy listening to: Margo Timmins (Cowboy Junkies) Sequentia (early music) Anonymous 4 (early music) Cambridge Singers (the altos and sopranos) Kathleen Battle (opera) Cecelia Bartolli (opera) Michelle Shocked Jann Arden Sarah McLachlan Loreena McKennitt Shawn Colvin Enya, and sister Ma'ire Brennan (Clannad) The Rankin Family Shania Twain (and I don't even like country music, but hey, it's Shania...) Laurie Anderson (performance artist extraordinnaire) and who could forget Pat Benetar? Jeebus! I could go on ana on and on and on... You forgot your absolute fav- Celine. I was always partial to Joan Jett - dirty skank rocker chick = hot. Blondie
