Why would I give a shit about Iraqi's and their guns? Our constitution says we can have guns. It does not mention Iraqis. It also does not mention that our gov't is responsible for pushing our gun rights onto other countries.

I strongly disagree with this. Pain is an important emotion and a powerful teacher. I read a study once that said most people will put more effort into avoiding pain than in persuing pleasure. It is an evolutionary thing and makes sense from that standpoint. However, in a day where we can make choices, I choose not to avoid things, people, situations in order to protect myself from pain. When I go through painful moments I take care to pay attention to them.

I think metal appeals to nerds for the same reason classical appeals to intellectuals: the complexity of the music.

I think it is "toe the line" not "tow the line", but I am not really sure.

Namecalling is fun. I like it. And any of you little babies out there that can't take it should stay off the interwebs.

BTW: He also wrote The Botany of Desire which is a wonderful book. Won't keep you in shape, but it is interesting.

I enjoy JT, but they are not metal. Never were, never will be. Just shows how out of touch MTV was. This was pre-headbangers ball days.

Metal drummers are amazing beasts. Their dexterity and endurance is sheer pleasure to watch. Pair that with a strong bass (the most clearly defining instrument for metal) and you have good music.

Stormbringer was one of the first albums I heard as a kid that really got me. DP is a metal band from back in the day!
