yep. There are two 1/5 mile sections washed out like that. There are some cool asphalt edged waterfalls. The salmon are actually spawning now in some of the shallow beds where the road used to be. I'll take some pics if I catch the buggers at it this week.

Going home in Index is a pretty fun trip after the floods, so I thought I'd show a quick update. My efforts begin with a well-planned idea to drag my bike through the river so I can avoid walking the last couple of miles in my waders. In my backpack is my cowering dog. We see a cool Kodak moment type photo opportunity and seize the shot The road gets a little funky after a while And then just sorta goes away At this point, my dog starts getting a little freaked out Fortunately, my man doesn't. He decides to take this opportunity to make an FA on a brand new boulder problem That being done, we carry on to where the yellow brick road starts up again Oh, by now, I've ditched the bike and figured that walking a few miles in waders is easier than dragging that fucker through hell and back. Eventually, the water will recede enough to make the bike thing easier. Anyone who wants to come by for a Thanksgiving visit is more than welcome. You'll have to chop some wood though.

  17. heh. at the movie premiere he was even more 'eloquent' hey, he makes several time more than you or I surfing for a living... at age 20ish I'd rather be smart than have more money than I need. Plus, my brain will keep working til I'm in my 90's (if genetics has anything to say about that) and that kid will probably not be a competitive surfer when he's my age. But hey, I wouldn't mind being a professional sport star if I had the chance...maybe I'll be a Master's golfer and get recognized around the world when I'm 100. Woo hoo.
  18. Anyone need a tanker?
  19. I understand all of that. Let me try to explain what I have never understood about his civil trial. If he was acquitted in a criminal trial, which require that you be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, then was tried in a civil trial, which have lower standards. How come he lost? Did OJ’s attorneys not bring up the fact that he was just acquitted for these murders in a court that hold a higher standard? Would that fact not be his best defense? No, it would not. The fact that the court he was in (Civil) held a lower standard for determining guilt would be the doorway through which the persuer would walk through. In other words, the persuer in civil court does not need to come up with as much proof against the defendant (O.J.) as they need to come up with in criminal court. So being dismissed in criminal court does not mean that that case will be easier to dismiss in civil court.
  20. Kids, don't smoke pot.
  21. I'm a Dane. without shame.
  22. What, you didn't like my Judge Judy example? I thought kevbaby might be able to relate to it?
  23. OK sweetie. Criminal court is for bad people who have broken the law. It is that person against the state or against the federal government. Civil court is for people who have disagreements with each other. Maybe you have seen folks on Judge Judy arguing with each other. There you go.
  24. If you put in a chew, that will help speed things along. I like to finish off with a bit of black licorice too.
