  1. Wow, look at her spine. She could get a part in Species 4.
  2. AE....can you please point my to the poll/study you are referring to? I haven't seen it, and find it interesting that in the cases where Americans have actually voted, this has not been the case. It was not a vote, it was a poll in Newsweek. However, I have read that an albeit slim majority of Americans are OK with gay unions in a number of publications. I wish I had a better memory--but I read so much that I simply cannot remember exactly where I read everything. Plus, I'm old. AE...make up your mind....Marriage (your original statement) or "unions" (follow up) do you mean civil unions???.....There is a difference...nonetheless....Forget Opinon polls...how about actual voting results Efforts to Ban Same-Sex Marriage / Civil Unions* / Domestic Partnerships* by Constitutional Amendment - The following table shows all popular vote results regarding state constitutional amendments banning same-sex marriage, and in some cases civil unions and domestic partnerships. To me, a simpleton, marriage and union are the same thing. Two people who are in a committed relationship (long-term, but ideally for life and the hereafter)and share living expenses, etc etc etc. I don't give a fuck what they call it as long as it amounts to the same thing--equal rights , equal protection under the law, equal whatever. And thanks for the poll info.
  3. Ditto on the BLEEP bullshit movie. I hated that and couldn't even watch the whole thing. Lame Lame Lame.
  4. Oh, and in exchange for your helpful life lesson, I will give you a basic grammar lesson. The first person is "I; the second person is "you". If you use those words in the Lord's Prayer (which is what I am assuming you are referring to here, correct me if I'm wrong) then you learned to say it differently than I was trained to say it.
  5. I just saw "The Cave" last night. The sexual imagry is very amusing, but the rest sucks.
  6. Scary! I can't imagine being right there at the right time with the camera on the right spot. The odds...
  7. I just wasted a bunch of coca-cola out through my nose.
  8. He should be fired too.
  9. That's what matters.
  10. Cuz you wouldn't be able to keep the chicks off you if you went around wearing a shirt that said that.
  11. Thanks, get back to work now.
  12. yeah, what he said.
  13. I don't know anyone who hasn't questioned the existance of God.
  14. I read that this is part of an "el ninita" system. Does that mean anything? It seems like every year they come up with a new version of el nino to explain storm systems. Is this level of rain at this time of the year part of a longer cyclical pattern? I also read that this means our winter is going to be shorter. Can that be predicted this early?
  15. Is that a fact? Here we differ.
  16. Wow, thanks for the life lesson. And thank goodness I am not at work right now, I'd sure feel mighty guilty after that tongue lashing.
  17. I think my use of the word "communication" was wrong--too broad. I don't know what the word is for communication directly from God. In other words, having to rely on a priest as a middleman for absolution or even on the Virgin Mary as a petitioner to Christ is a little bit difficult for me. I have nothing against the Catholic Church, just as I have nothing against any organized or disorganzed religion in general. But it's the little things that make me ask questions. That might seem offensive and sacraligious to some--and they may be right. But I can't help but to question these things anyway.
  18. Unlike all the other rapt children?
  19. I understand all this. But I still think it is interesting to note that she was not fired for her previous indiscretions--only the one against the President.
  20. AE....can you please point my to the poll/study you are referring to? 21. Unless you're actually trained in a given religion, it's probably best to stick to what you know about other religions from their public record. Catholic priests, in addition to serving as pastors, administer sacraments such as baptism, marriage, etc. They do not serve as a middlemen between practitioners and god. You do not know what religion I was "trained" in. Latria, hyperdulia, and dulia are not considered personal communications as they do not originate from the individual--they are learned and passed on.
  22. That is neither one of the distinctive beliefs of the Catholic Church nor is it one of the Sacraments.
  23. Why would I do that?
  24. So in other words, she didn't get fired for making nasty gestures to other drivers--just for flipping off Bush.
  25. You lived in Mondale? That's in CA, right?
