  1. Um, how about...blueberry jam, or its neighbor vertical therapy? I'll be there at 5:30 or a little before.
  2. nice haberdashery! oh, nice job braving the choss, too.
  3. I hereby christen this feature the Heffalump, then.
  4. hey if anyone's interested in checking some of this north face stuff out on Monday, let me know. more interested in aiding, but I'm flexible. Ivan, you've piqued my interest. I want to see this magic rope-catching feature.
  5. you're darn right that's a stick clip, Bill. homemade with a dowel rod and some duct tape. if you want to borrow it sometime, let me know. there's at least one spot where it really came in handy, and a couple more where I just used it 'cause I'm lazy. it takes a lot of gimmickry to bring the rock down to my level.
  6. well, it's definitely on my list of things to do in this life. I do snore pretty loud sometimes though, or so my partners allege, so you've been warned. bivying on the mighty beacon is up there too. basically I think I'm just into the idea of camping + exposure.
  7. living the nightmare! congratulations, you guys. great TR, awesome pictures.
  8. yeah, we had to show the monkey who was boss. all that aid climbing this winter paid off, we pretty much cruised it this time. Going to Jugging Camp with Moof was a big help (thanks, Moof!). Josh might have pictures (but not of the rad base jumper unfortunately).
  9. Josh & I were right below him when his chute opened up - it was loud; we both thought it was the mother of all rock fall coming down, but then looked up and saw him sailing down, pretty cool really. Wish I'd had my camera handy.
  10. Thanks for the suggestions. I've used woolite in the past too. Never heard of revivex, sounds like a good name for a medication maybe?
  11. it's just too chaotic a place, and brings back too many bad memories. I can't handle it emotionally.
  12. I think there's a couple options of trails from Govy to T-line - isn't there something just West of the glade trail that's got less tight turns? I went up there with a friend this winter and we skinned up/skied down a trail that was really mellow, almost too flat for even a total gumby skier like myself. sorry I don't remember the name. As far as skiing through the ski area, I wouldn't know; we turned around at the lifts.
  13. Yeah, I thought about going to my neighborhood laundromat but I don't think I can handle hanging out there for a couple hours. The laundry bag option is sounding promising, thanks for the suggestion.
  14. I've had a set of the peanuts for a while and like them a lot for pin scars. Looking forward to getting some of DMM's larger aluminum offsets whenever they come out...anyone seen them yet?
  15. For those of you who use a top loading washing machine to wash your ropes, what tips do you have for keeping it from getting snarled up? I've heard of daisy chaining the rope or putting it in a fabric sack like a pillowcase; what's worked for you? I used to have a front end loader which worked pretty good; I've also washed it in the bathtub which didn't get it as clean as I wanted. Also it took forever.
  16. I found a long sewn runner girth hitched around the tree below bird of paradise at rocky butte. It looked new, so I'm guessing its owner might want it back. Let me know.
  17. i've never gone skulking, but i love swimming rapids. what are the biggest rapids people skulk? i used to do this in the james river back in virginia - had no idea it had a name - just thought it was something you did on a lazy sunday after drinking your weight in watery beer, attempting to escape the miserable agony of 100 degree weather by wallowing in 70 degree water - i remember following a 3 foot long catfish for awhile until sunddenly he led me to a whole army of his enormous followers - kinda freaked me out to realize i was sharing hte river w/ such monsters - richmond was a great place for such tomfoolery - tons of ancient debris from the civil war and beyond collecting seaweed on the bottom Sounds like good noodling country!
  18. hey, I'm going to do my best. mid-afternoon climbing at ozone this spring, though? I still haven't been there yet.
  19. for summer! school's out forever! well, for a little while anyway. Today's my last day on the job after working at the same place for the last 7 years. the bad news: I won't have the time & opportunity to follow "As CC.com Turns" quite so much. the good news: more weekday climbing this spring. So PDXr's looking for midweek partners, give me a shout.
  20. hollowed out apple with a screen from the kitchen faucet dude, how come the faucet doesn't work right?
