I should add that for my job function I had to take some specific classes that dealt a little with dress among other things (customs, etc) for when I travel overseas. What was mentioned though wasnt specifically spelled out basically insured that unless one had tats on the hands/neck/etc that they would be covered as one is expected to dress formally. We are expected to adhere to those guidelines but I'm unaware of any specific repercussions.

Oh and I work with people that have full sleeves/etc

John do you think an employer should evaluate a prospective employee's tats when hiring? Depends on the job function you are hiring them for. Obviously anything that is visible would have to adhere to any HR guidelines for sexual or explicit material... but beyond that I dont think it should matter. I work for a rather large (understatement? ) global semiconductor company and we have no HR rules WRT visible tats beyond what I mentioned above... I'm asking as I'm unsure if I will work for them forever. My g/f has many many visible tats and is the CFO of one of the largest realty companies in PDX... she deals with many many external clients/banks/etc and her CEO could care less if her tats are showing/that she has them because she is really really good at what she does...

Not interested in people's stance on tats... just interested if your employer has an HR policy. thanks...

Hey Off: how about the word "lucky" below her belly button? My girl has that one Semi related she also has stars and hearts on her fingers and gets them touched up ~5 years... she holds ink a little better (cuban) than white guys like us but as long as you dont have something that isnt too intricate, a good artist, and you get it touched up every few years you should be able to get something inked on.

Stay on topic please

bump More directed to those of you in the corporate world but any relevant input is appreciated... Does your company have an HR policy regarding tattoos? If so what is it? - 100% allowed? - Allowed if "tasteful"? - Must be covered at all times? - If it cannot be covered (i.e. hands, neck, etc) what is acceptable (i.e. tattooed wedding band) and what isn't ("STFU n00b" on the knuckles)? - Must be covered when dealing with clients? - You must have a tattoo to work for your company? - etc etc? *BONUS* If one of the responsibilities of your position is hiring (please note if this is an individual responsibility or shared decision) does your company and/or you have a stance on tattoos visible during the interview *or* after you extend the position and the suit and tie come off you find the applicant was covering tattoos on their forearms, etc etc TIA for good input

Schmitz! You of all people should know what happens when I get on the sceptar! Or did you already forget what happened last year! :laf: Wayne Team Harro does xfit with me @ the lab so we already kinda compete during workouts... we are keeping track of days of ice climbing (must lead/follow at least one route that day for it to count) this year... its fun to do as a friend of mine who I wont name or I will get flamed for climbed 66 days of ice last year in addition to skiing roughly the same # so I like to keep track to see if I can at least climb 1/4 of what he does... he commented to me this year that he climbed 300 pitches (just pitches!) on the new cobras last year alone If we are keeping track of pitches then I'm @ 28 or so for the year And 2 minutes to load!?!? Sounds like either you are still using dial up or you need a new processor! Perhaps a new dual core processor! I hear Intel makes some really nice ones! If fact... maybe you should buy some Intel stock while you are getting a new computer with a new dual core processor!

No shit! You guys suck! I have 10 days of ice climbing and I live in PDX

Would it be possible to add in a "date range" search option to the TR Index? Ex: Be able to search for climbs done in the alpine lakes region between Dec 200x and Feb 200x+1

John Frieh replied to ropegoat's topic in Fitness and Nutrition Forum
1 pm tomorrow (Dec 22): the lab 4830 NE Martin Luther King Portland, OR. 97211 Be 10 minutes early so you have time to warm up. It isn't running but it will push you aerobically as hard or harder than running. I promise. 503/758/5772 if you have any questions -
One Arm Bandit is WI5, 235 m. Very short chimney section (the book calls it a chockstone). If you like chimneys put Birdbrain on the list. You'll love Cody Dru! You won't need your velcro gloves as most of the baa come equipped with handles! See...!?!?
