US outdoor in PDX (click the link off the main cc.com page) carries both of those boots as part of their excellent selection. Until this Friday Climb Max (also in PDX) is having 20% - 70% off every regular priced item in the store... I am unsure if they carry those boots though.

FYI Vasque is rolling out new versions of at least the ice 9000 and super alpinista in Jan of 2005. Both will be lighter and warmer than current offerings. Would be wise to look for sales/discounts on the older models or wait for the new ones.

Almost all climbers park their car at Timberline lodge and climb it car to car in a day. Gear: Knowledge and judgment will serve you well in all your backcountry endeavors.

And if you ever are lucky enough arc teryx does beautiful repairs... I had a pair of pants and 3 different jackets repaired... each one was excellent.

You will like your Freneys (or any other shoe you can put on): - if they fit - if they are specific to the types of climbing you pursue. I have successfully attached sabertooths (both binding types), sarkens (spir and sidelock), darts, and SMC crampons to my Freneys. Yes I have the original blue ones but I highly doubt the rand has been modified to a degree such that one can’t put these crampons on them. What else are you hoping to hear?
