  1. what is the helmet covering? did you need 2?
  2. Are you wearing a helmet in the photos
  3. Core strength builder
  4. Check your email.
  5. Hertz doesn't have any hidden fees... that is the price estimate given when I reserve online usually matches within a dollar or two when I pay for it. I'm fairly certain they aren't the cheapest though... I have heard Budget or Avis are fairly cheap. I think digging around online would be best or... post something on rc.com or supertacos.com and see if anyone is interested in ride share... could be a pain the butt though. And word to the wise: fill up the car before you return it... if you opt for the rental agency to do so they will way over charge you for it.
  6. Go to Cody.
  7. Snoqualmie Pass can be 4 hours away... very traffic dependent. Gives you 16 hours to climb. WA Pass is 6 hours away... also very traffic dependent. On the + side approaches are short so you could easily bag a route (or two?) at the Pass. SOL already named the OR options though don't forget about the Matterhorn. Thielsen would be an excellent first alpine climb once the snow melts though it will take you longer to drive there and back then it will to hike it.
  8. Assuming we are still talking about a spotting scope also consider a cheap lightweight plastic stand for your spotting scope... this makes it a lot easier to show someone what you are looking at.

  10. Scott: depends on where you are. The AAC has good info: Wilderness Fixed Anchor Chronology Basically what others said: no power tools but legal except in the Sawtooths.
  11. On the back of the ticket one of the options is a "no contest" plea. Last time I checked responding to a charge within the allotted time and planning on paying what ever fees I may amass is sacking up. I'm not trying to get out of the ticket... I admit I was speeding. I'm only trying to avoid a suspension.
  12. You need the magical FS gate key or be prepared to bicycle many many miles of logging road. A friend of mine went up there and looked at one side and found mass quantities of moss. As far as routes chances are the obvious has been done but never recorded. I would talk to the local usual suspects (Anglin, the Boys from Bend, etc etc).
  13. Commuting between the couv and PDX on a daily basis is potential candidate for the 2nd level of hell IMO. And I have 5 convictions in the past 3 years in WA
  14. Perhaps you legal eagles can help me out with this... Got another moving violation (what's new)... I know I qualify for another suspension pending my conviction. If I enter a plea of no contest does this count as a conviction? I.e. Can the DMV count a no contest plea? I understand I will have to pay the full fine amount + court fees but according to my math it is cheaper than paying for a new license, driving for work petition, etc etc. From OARs: Background: DMV page OARs link
  15. I found out the hard way this morning that if you book a flight that departs in less than 24 hours from that point and don't check any bags your boarding pass will get tagged for search regardless of whether or not you trip the metal detector... additionally you aren't allowed web check in. The TSA guy said I could have avoided the whole deal if I had check a bag
  16. I hear the sorority girls at WSU at much better looking than the ones at UW. Nice TR dude!
  17. What up for Sat?
  18. I'm out of the loop... I heard they did but I've been in PHX so chances are I'm wrong
  19. Nice! Did you work with a Jeff B while you were down there?
  20. Word on the street is 2 locals are currently there attempting the first winter ascent
  21. For someone who has done his homework you sure seem to ask a lot of questions... what routes are in, what rack to take, etc etc Still waiting for this TR...
  22. "Do your homework" was a recommendation for bob to do some research into when TC is, as he calls it, "prime". I linked Jim's post as he comments on the time frame for all 4 of those accents was between April and May. Yes one could climb TC in just about any month of the year... however if bob is hoping to catch it in "prime" conditions he should "do his homework" and find out when that time is. Was not directed at you or the chair thread.
  23. The question here one should be asking them self is what is Ross referring to? Good for climbing it or skiing it? R0ck on Dr Huckstable
