elevations are all relative. People talk about climbing @ 11 and 12 thousand and higher all the time in Colorado, but Denver (out on a flat plain) is 5,300 feet, and Seattle, Vancouver, and PDX are @ 0 feet elev. All I'm saying is that a "Washington Pass" in colorado would be roughly @ 11,000 feet or so.

It was 80 in a 70! Going down hill in the middle of the day! I was very pissed. The good thing is that I'd been doing 80 up the Oregon side of the Gorge where the limit is 60, then got busted just after crossing the river and getting into the 70 MPH zone.

I drive that stretch every weekday and I'm constantly scanning for cops. I see, on average, 1 cop every 2 weeks or so. I wouldn't say that is too heavily patrolled. How about Saturday morning? I give you 1:1 odds you'll find the State Patrol on the median at that time, waiting for the weekenders heading for BC. According to "The Hamster Index", more tickets were issued at the Fairhaven Exit last year than any other place in Washington. Beware Squamish Travellers! THE MAN is so suck.
