    april's fools

Dru, was it a limited time thing? I can't find it under the "holidays" section.
  3. So if we leave super early, and don't take an inordinate amount of time... is the consensus that the skiing wouldn't be worth it during a mid-late morning descent? Any guesses as to when it would become skiably soft?
  4. Wait, maybe I want them extra long and dangly, it would be a new style. Totally functionless and strange looking has worked in the past (sagging jeans, extra long belts hanging down).
  5. to anyone else who has the red and silver stubai ultralight crampons... is the strap about 2 or 3 times as long as needed to stretch to the front, inner ankle, and back to the outer edge of the ankle where it's secured? Do you all just try and tuck this log tag end into something to keep it from flopping loose?
  6. I'm probably going to be up there sat night, leaving some time between 12:00 and 2:00 on sunday, when were you going? Is a Sno* Park Permit required for the T-Line lot?
  7. I sure am.. some nice Atomics I bought from a guy on the CC classifieds too. I know there will be a million people, but maybe if we leave early (late?) enough we'll beat the crowd to the pearly Gates. Is the bergschrund a "non-obstacle" at this point? I'll bring the skis and boots along, and assess stashing them as the conditions warrant.
  8. I'm possibly going up there sunday morning (or st. Helens). Any advice in terms of gear needed apart from crampons and an axe? Are you getting all your Avy info from NWAC? If I were to ski down from a spot below crater rock, but only have alpine ski gear, would it be prudent to just pack it along to the top, and carry it back down to where it became skiable? Or do you not think it would be worth the haul to bring them along? Thanks for any info.. going to be the first time up there after looking at it a million times.
  9. Poor Zags.... thius year has seen a lot of very quality teams not make it in.
  10. I'd be doing it from holden, because I'd be coming from Stehekin, and going out to the Entiat and up just wouldn't make any sense. Klenke, that pic helps a lot, it sounds like there are some loose gullies at the headwaters of Copper Creek: but once that saddle is gained, I agree that the south side of the east ridge looks fairly class-3 doable. Trip planning is addictingly fun.
  11. Way to go! I've been looking for any info I can dig up about doing Fernow from holden in a day next summer, goig up Copper Creek. Did you happen to check out that line up the ridge from the headwaters of copper creek?
  12. depends on what kind of special
  13. Oregon Cascades?
  14. How did it go? how was the snow and overall conditions?
  15. Pocket rocket but there are a lot of good and light stoves on the market. The guy who invents a cannister with some type of guage of how much fuel remains will make a million bucks.
  16. so i lost you somewhere... why exactly do we "suck"? i'm assuming that you mean that modern man & woman are "spoiled" cause they aren't burdened with the hardships of yesteryear/yestercentury. (something i've heard alot, and agree with to some degree) but on the flipside, you gotta admit that in certain ways THEM folks (of 100+ yrs ago) were spoiled, in that they didn't have to deal with many disturbing things about modern life, such as.... nuclear waste nuclear bombs global warming overpopulation WMD genocide reality TV shows dubya Genocide aint new

    Finals bitch thread

I should have studied... instead I rowed, Skied, and Ran the Shamrock. Gonna catch up with me this week, but I've still got 16 hours to cram.
  18. was it "Mt hood pizza" on the north side of 26 near a grocery store? or was it Pizza from the ZigZag Inn? Cause I'm pretty sure that Mt. Hood Pizza's main customer base is crazy hippies and stoner boarder's who'd make you guys look downright proper and civilized.
  19. might be helpful to describe what areas you are asking about, before you ask about them.
  20. Wait... didn't you kill yourself? (I did pay some attention in Lit. class)

    Moving to PNW

McGlenn's, the Wok About Grill, Former Owl Drug soda Fountain, La Fuenta.... oh there are pleanty.
  22. Boney M - "Brown Girl in the ring"
  23. Uh-oh, they removed the option to make your own... guess too many of us were screwing with "the man."
  24. Ever used an ice tool? Or placed a cam? Or climbed a mountain? No? I'd say being able to boulder V8 but not climb a 5.10 crack is pathetic. I'm not into bouldering or pulling plastic anymore, but I respect the enthusiam of those who do. To each his own. Rock on, Distel. I think if more people had your philosophy this site would run a lot smoother. (although possibly less entertainingly)
