You're just updating #2 as shown in the picture(and not #1), correct? I tested this in Firefox, and it does work for me with a non-admin ID. Either you are trying to update form #1, or it is other software that is messing with you. If you are updating the part that has you put in your email address and then confirm the email address, you are updating the wrong place.

You can still recieve important messages etc from CC.com if you update your Public, published email address with "email(at)address.com" [e.g. "oly(at)cascadeclimbers.com" instead of "oly@cascadeclimbers.com"]. Leave the address in #1 alone, as that is the one used by the board to communicate...it is not published.

Yes they can. We will be making it more difficult for them to do so soon, but it is possible right now of that to happen. I would suggest protecting your published, public email address as plexus describes above.
