  1. The dead horse has excellent outdoor credentials as well. Well, I'm glad you found stuff to like in her. Personally, I don't agree with some of the key issues that might enthrall key voters to her, but more importantly I still find her resume too thin (and I think Alaska is one of the coolest states in the union too). There are reasons why I can see her as a good choice (if you oppose Roe vs. Wade, if you love your guns, etc) that are indeed very powerful in this country. Time will tell if this was a good pick, but I find it an odd gamble.
  2. For how long? She's governer of one of the LEAST populated states for 1.5 years, and suddenly she's the BEST choice to run the most powerful country in the world? Still seems like a very poor choice to me.
  3. I think she has been in politics longer than Obama, but there is a big difference in actual experience between her and Obama (let alone her and Biden). You really can't count being involved in the PTA or mayor of a town of 5000 to the actual experience required to run the most powerful country in the world. In the end, if all goes well, we would never call on her President and McCain would be there with his experience. I just think it is a very bizarre and poor choice. I guess it does prove that there might be some "maverick" left in McCain (unless this is some ultra-calculated maneuver by Rove)
  4. Experience running for beauty contests? Define.
  5. I'm pretty sure McCain has some other accomplishments, but seriously...who made the decision to pick Palin? People always talk about Rove still being in the thick of things. When I think about the prospect of this woman being the president (with McCain being the 72 elderly gent and all), it really does bother me. All I hear in response to this question is that its about "character"..."character" that we have never heard of. she is really out of left field...it seems to me if you dressed a dead horse up that had her stance on issues, many would vote for the dead horse over Obam/Biden (of course this goes both ways). I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything here. I would wager to guess that there are no "on the fence" voters here. i just think it is crazy that someone of Palin's experience could so easily be our next president, in a time we need someone who know can play in the world arena so badly.

Wood for the campfire! Lets keep a big fire blazing, so if someone can bring a BUNCH of wood that would be awesome 3. I'll bring a supply of brats, buns, condiments...as well as a couple of kegs of good beer I'm looking for ideas for a good slideshow, so PM me if you have a good idea for one! If you haven't been to one of these before, its a fun way to meet your fellow sprays around an actual campfire, and there are always groups that end up going out climbing together...great way to meet some new folks and hang out with some old friends. Hope to see you up there!
