High angle poeple, what do you do for work?
lancegranite replied to lancegranite's topic in Climber's Board
We are going to hold a class around the second week of december. I know that I have spoke to a number of you, but if anyone else is interested, PM me. Thanks. -
I thought this thread was going to be about me too.

Better to frame in the fourth bedroom, a open loft makes the rest of the house harder to heat in the winter. French doors might be a good compromise.

Like any guide that profiles 2000 routes, some typos exist, but the new routes and excelent topo photos make up for the odd typo. There is a few of my routes in there, look for anything climbed by a guy named "unknown" Plus, when you buy it, you get your very own pictures of me and Mrs. G, suitable for framing. kiss kiss!

You said it!

The only time the gloves come out is long routes in cold or windy weather. They keep my hands warm!

Do I torture myself so? Because we have seen "the other side of life" we are almost worse off, conforming to modern life's rules makes us bristle. The thought of another day wasted working drives me to fits. I just want to climb! PS: Mrs. G & me did manage to get out today...perfect temps and the lady led the hard pitches.

Google "treehouses" Many rentals are in hawaii/ asia/ the tropics, giving me many confusing feelings about life's true meanings. Life could be so simple, why do I put myself thru this?...

The one dry climb at Index last Saturday....

I have attempted RC/ MC, the rope drag was not too bad and only forearm weakness and a steady drizzle put a funk on my attempt. MC is one of the best Index 11b's due to it's steep moves and good gear. I fell and felt no pain... -

I saw you as well, blue truck, grey backpack? -
Anybody here a fan of treehouses? I have been obsessed with building a treehouse for years. There is suprisingly few restrictions on their construction in Snohomish county, according to the nice people I talked to at the assessors office. You can build a structure under 200 square feet with no permits, no heat or plumbing though, that is where a structure turns into a residence.

Work brought me Home last week and my work mates and me snuck out to Index saturday. Rob led Roger's Corner to the tree, where he decided that the remainder of his rack was a little light for Breakfast of Champions. Dave followed next, stopping below Marginal Karma to admire the steep crack. Bringing up the rear, I was handed the rack before I even had time to clip into the tree, choosing to hug it while getting ready for BOC. BOC was really fun and I enjoyed every jam. Hanging from the belay, staring at Mt Index, dark mist shrouded and gothic in all of it's badness, the river and forest, rock and clouds. I completely forgot that I live 1200 miles away, own a house, job, bills, animals, friends or family. I did not think about anything.... except that that rock next to the river is a place where my spirit rests. Rain started to fall as we pulled the ropes and a soggy retreat was made, but spirits were high , my friends admiring the fine stone and solid jams. I know what you are thinking... a TR about one climb? yeah, I got one pitch in at Index this year and am extremely thankful.... I can go another year.

Hooks are not just for aid climbing, they have saved my bacon on failed free climbs, route finding errors, alpine climbs, first ascents and the occasional height dependant wierdness.

The job does require travel for sometimes undetermend lengths of time. Demanding and dangerous, tedious and strenous, hurry up and wait. Drop a tool, and its gone and so is your reputation. -
ATTENTION: rope access operators, window washers, arborists, painters, riggers, bridge painters, inspectors, guides, telecomnunications tower workers, steel workers, masons, ect... Do you work at heights and manage your personal safety and the safety of others? Do you aready work in an industrial enviroment? Are you hip to working with ropes, heavy lifting, rigging? Can you manage a jobsite, paperwork, permits and people's infinate bullshite? More importantly, are you looking for a little change of pace? Recient weather issues have created the demand for skilled high angle people. If you are are looking for a job, training and have a good attitude... PM me!
