  1. As long as it's easier to feed rope than with my old solo aid, that thing did not give the love freely.
  2. Some of us just bought said SP two pages over, and for a very good price as well. Thanks for the beta! So many times I have blocks of time off, looking for partners is the toughest part. Hopefully, this SP will help a brother out.
  3. I was going to call Brian about this, that's strange!
  4. Still much snow, but the rock is dry. Dryish. Dryish in places, but not overly wet. Partly damp at times, becoming fairly dryer after periods of partial sunbreaks. Local weather for this area, wet but not raining, and snow, but on the ground snow, not in the air snow. It's sunny. locally.
  5. I seem to have an advancing hairline, I have to shave my forehead every day.
  6. I just can't help thinking that it kinda reminds me of a cowbell.
  7. Read some available info, pros and cons of different systems. Looking for your two cents. grigri/soloist/cloves/silent partner ect. Really, I'm just trying to talk myself into buying the silent partner, but the price tag sucks. $243.00??? At over twice as much as the next closest device, it's a little hard to believe.
  8. I foung several grey hairs this morning, I'm pretty sure that they are not mine. I cannot recall owning any, and a brief scan of some older pictures proved inconclusive. A firm tug on one brought me to the shocking realization that some bastard took the time to glue them to my head, maybe when I was sleeping. If you or someone yo know did this to me, please send PM, I will return them, no questions asked.
  9. Ha! I'm with Chirp here, you were so lucky to have shitty weather! The Limestone ridge on the N. side of Gateway (sunny n steep) canyon is my wet weather ridge of choice. One may link it up with Turtle Head for full value. Side note: There is a technical rock climb up the very prow of Turtle Head, 5.9+ R gear to 4". The best position in all of Red Rocks for sure.
  10. We heard it at the put-in from the ranger. Wonder if he was just trying put us on. I never bothered to check up on the story, just got scared by it's implacations and then got into my boat and pushed off.
  11. Was digging through some of the pictures from this trip and thought I would ammend this TR with some GC pron. enjoy! The daily commute, this red limestone is the most common rock for the first 100 miles or so. Guidebook was later burned for unexplained reasons. Passing yet another unclimbed line, You pass around 200 miles of this stuff. Brian climbing some rock near Phantom Ranch. First fish of the trip, I had just ate shite in my kayak and got rescued by these guys, note the guy holding on to me. Redwall Cavern, nuff said. Kayaking is fun. Sweeny exiting Deer Creek Falls Peter bouldering during coffee break, day 5 Nevell Canyon, yes, those are sinker pockets. More Nevell canyon Slackline across Grand Canyon Lava: They pulled 2 bodies outta here the day before we launched. It's just you and God
  12. Flew into SEA from ORD yesterday, window seat and unlimited vis. Fricking unbelieveable!!!!! The flight from SEA to Wenachee was even better, flying over the I-90 corridor then down Ingalls creek, past the Enchantments at around 10,500 feet by my guess. NOTE: to the two guys on top of Dragontail, one wearing blue coat, red hat, the other wearing red coat, white helmet. Thanks for the friendly wave, that was me waving back. It looked like your shoelace was untied...
  13. Ha! I went back and read the thread from the beginning, thinking about the Baring route as I went along, and scrolled down to find this post.
  14. I usually consider anything east of Dryden to be western Idaho.
  15. Come on over and shovel my driveway if you want the authentic experience.
  16. Zonk, good to see you yesterday, will pm when I'm back in town.
  17. Nice TR, I was eyeballing the good coverage from Pangborne field today.
  18. Nevada is a really good place to see military aircraft. Try climbing at a little place called the Mecca Boulders. The area lies inside the Delamar FAS,mach 1+ freindly. We were on a small hillside doing important climbing thing, watched in awe as jet fighter swerved to miss our car parked below then intercept enemy fighter flying around other side of hill* *plane's actual altitude may have been slightly higher
  19. Great stories! I always get a big smile knowing there is a 24 year old kid in there, having the time of his life. A wierd one- we were night hiking in the snow in Calico Basin, NV and we were buzzed by a blacked out helicopter, no running lights and 50 feet off the deck.
  20. hmmm, did those videos not show up or is it just me?
