Trying out aid climbing for the second or third time at Smith, I decided that "Toes of the Fisherman" would be a good solo. Fixed anchor amid piss odor, and climbed up 20 feet, clipping above me and popped a cam. Rope caught me 1 foot above a protruding rock. STOOOOO-PID!
FYI:
I went Eastside on Tuesday evening, and was detoured at Money Creek to Skykomish. The going was slow, because not only is there that one-lane bridge, but there are a couple of construction zones along the detour as well.
They are doing bolting on the cliffs just East of the Skykomish Tunnel.
Same when I came back Thursday.
Clearly Mike's working through the 12 steps of Climbers Anonymous... he's making amends to those who've been hurt by his climbing.
Seriously, though -- keep the aggro TR's coming, and keep pulling on gear whenever you can.
Only three steps to go! Way to go, Michael.

Greg, I agree with a lot of the tenets of Old Conservatism, just not the "new" Conservatives. They blast ahead like Democrats, in my book a scary Conservative.
I agree. The Aliens, with the internal springs, seem to gunk up the fastest.
I have had success with cleaning Aliens with spray lube only. The drip-type lube doesn't seem to generate sufficient blast to clean the dirt out of the internal springs. My $.02 (again)
Oils tend to gather dust after lubing, IMO.
Graphite spray works well, as does WD-40.
I spray as I work the cam until the drippings are clear, then whack repeatedly on newspaper to extract embedded lube, then wipe dry.
Well put. It seems if we can re-elect this idiot rather than jailing him, we are a country of shallow materialists who cannot look beyond our own car and mortgage payments. It would be a sad statement of our nation indeed.
America?
I have met a lot of climbing folks over the years, most cool, some not.
Mike is one of the most psyched, easygoing partners I have ever climbed with. His enthusiasm is contagious, his skills stellar, and his head cool.
You rock, Mike
Glacier and I climbed Sunday and Monday. Sunday was a seige on lower Castle Rock, followed by me trying to onsight Das Muzak. Got up it, but a few falls.
Monday we went up and did Condorphomine Addiction. Seemed mediocre and overbolted to me. Worth doing once, I guess.
Then back early to beat the labor day traffic.
Hey, Ben! We were at my property at Nason Ridge Sat and Sunday night!
Who had the wedding?
