It's a great fucking read. Fast paced, sharp wit, great facts, a really funny, disturbing, well written, very readable book. Fast read too. I recommend it.

"The making of the Atom Bomb" (Still) and "Fatland" and recently finished "Fast Food Nation"

Well she could be a hang glider instructor.. or.. or.. a paraglider pilot? I dunno...sailing makes a lot of sense.. I guess I don't hear "No wind no work" every day. Plus I'm feeble minded and easily confused.
-
AG, if you don't mind me asking, what do you do that involves wind?

And the rest of Moscow as well. What about Cinammon slab? That's pretty easy. Maybe for sport, Shamu? one hard (kinda) move right off the ground and then a walk up.

Funny (if brief) trip report! Go Bumblies!

Today I am proud to announce that The Everglades will be paved to make room for the largest penal colony on Earth. Heheh, I said Penal.

Sorry about sending your parents to the electric chair, but I have to be tough on you people. It's for your own good. The only way you can learn to be not poor is to not have parents, err, or not steal. Or Something. STAY IN SCHOOL KIDS!

I like digging hole! Dig. Dig. Dig.

Oooh, I deal with this kind of Dilemma all the time. I happen to live right behind a rehab clinic (which by the way doesn't seem to successfully rehabilatate anybody) and I have to deal with basically the same 6-8 guys just about every day. The way I've dealt with them is if they're not fucking with anybody in my hood, and they're just sitting on the curb, being mellow, and not bothering anyone, I don't bother them. However, if they're pissing on my building, hassling people, throwing empties, or sitting under the steps to my building, I get physical with em and toss them out on their ass. A few harsh words, a good hard toss into the alley, they get the picture and disappear for a few weeks. But every time I see one of those fucks, I just want to bash their faces in with my bare hands. I don't though. As long as they're mellow, I'm mellow. So in my opinion, you did the right thing, even if it felt so wrong. It is hard though. Especially when they most likely deserve a thrashing.

AWESOME TRIP. Hearty congrats to you guys on a very strong effort and amazing accomplishment. The trip pics are heady to look at, and simply inspiring. Wow. I don't know what else to say except again, congratulations. I would not be able to resist talking nonstop about something like this!

I was up in WA pass, it was just a short 5.5ish pitch on the sw rib of the s early winter spire. Fun stuff!!! Don't be shy AG! From the last pic it is clear you were pioneering some sick new hard route in the Trango Towers region.
-
Thank you AlpinFox!!! Awesome job! She's dressed lightly for Pakistan though.

Maybe. It aint: bachy village, Meadow Camp, Sisters, or Awbrey. But DFA, you may be right. It may be that new area up skyliner. It's just that the rock looks a little different than the usual dusty, pummy stuff around Bend.

I was just gonna say it was in the Metolius catalog too... it appears to be in a pine grove which would lead me to believe its at a higher, more easternly altidude... could even be in the strawberries, blues, or willouwas... beats the shite outa me though... I actually posted this same query in the Oregon Cascades section a while back with no takers. I'm thinking it's a super secret place those rat bastards at Metolius don't want to share. I agree with Fejas. East of the crest. Bulo? Near there?

Yeah.... well it was foggy, and I remember the cliff being above the PCT at the Sandy river crossing.. Maybe a mile or two up on the right side of the river looking up the drainage? I think I'm thinking of a different escarpment entirely.... (edited for clarity, although I don't think it helped )
-
Hi-larious! One of you Photoshop wizards should put the Trango tower behind her! That would be classic!
-
Hmm, well I do remember seeing the cliff in question when I was hiking the PCT from the gorge to Bend, and I remember it looking loose and not seeing any bolts. but it was very crappy that day... So not razroblade pinnacle? yeah, you're probably right.
-
PRC (Olson) Look for Razorblade Pinnacle. That sounds like what you described.
-
I was wondering when someone was gonna mention that.
-
Oh yeah, Pilot Butte used to be Pivot Butte, and Bend was originally called Farewell Bend.
