1) ever notice people who leave the carts are usually moms? 2) my dad does the waiting for a parking space right next to the entrance thing too, much to the chagrin of mom and myself. 3) i like how the treadmill goobers are also drinking sugared sports drinks while not sweating.

mmmm....which party to go to.....dope smokers and drinkers or lawyers and accountants....mmmmmm ;-)

whilst riding the bus into work this morning, i came across the following passage in arno ilgner's "the rock warriors way". i immediately thought it apropos to almost any discussion in 'spray': "We immediately recognize the Ego's role in our conversation example: the perrson is preoccupied with his own ideas and isn't listening to others. He is self-centered and out of tune with the flow of conversation. He tries to control the conversation because his agenda is set by the Ego, which doesn't care about new ideas or learning. It's looking for approval, and it wants to show either the superiority of its habitual ideas, or the ability to dictate the conversation". so instead of a group hug, how about an ego enema?

wasn't the old treatment to wap them with a Bible? :-)

"I don't know where he is. I have no idea and I really don't care. It's not that important." (March 13, 2002.) GWB

well, i'm certain that little riposte left them feeling soundly rebuked for their ill-considered opinions!
-
Actually, I think he's dismissive of it because it doesn't rank as high on his list as other issues which aren't getting discussed. Same as for me. For this, I blame Bush, I blame Kerry, and I blame both political parties and their supporters. Oh, I also blame the news for not stepping up and taking the candidates to task over policies. It's a lot easier on their talking heads to simply report "Bush said today..." or "Kerry said..." blah blah blah.

Funny, it reminds me of the scene from the Wizard of Oz where the Wizard sez, "Don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain!"

Regardless of who is lying about what and who allegedly did or didn't do something, it should at least be a requirement that the president is not, or at least does not appear to be, a complete boob.

Kinda like the death penalty, right? I mean, you don't know if some rapist might not end up reforming himself and going on to win the Nobel Prize because he invented the cure for cancer that saved your daughter...

Slow down there Rambo. I don't think anyone's going to be pinning any medals on your chest any time soon for your 'patriotic' activities. It makes me ill thinking you even use that word. Unless the rules of engagement has changed, if you make the statement "The medias is biased to the left", then you have to prove it. Unless you went to the Pee Wee Herman School of Debate. Otherwise, it's perfectly valid for me to say, "Obviously, the media is biased by right wing corporate interests" and therefore it must be true and it's up to you to prove me wrong.
-
It may be a free press, but it sure is stupid. :-)
-
I'm sure there's a bad joke about 'taking a licking' and 'keeps on ticking' here....
-
No, it's not obvious at all. Saying "obviously" is not a statement of fact. If you're going to be upset about bias in the media, it's only intellectually honest to be upset by all bias, not that which simply turns your particular crank the wrong way.
-
So, if media bias bothers you so much? Why don't we see more right-wing bias complaints? Lord knows I see enough of those. But then media bias isn't my personal crusade.
-
You know...Stalin. Starved most of Ukraine to death. That genocide.
-
Yes, now THAT is a case of media bias to get worked up about.
-
Face it doobie. Your first reaction wasn't "Look at this terrible tragedy", your first reaction was "How can I score lame political points from this terrible tragedy?".
-
Why don't you complain every time the news refers to "hostage takers" in Iraq as "insurgents" rather than as "terrorists"?
-
I notice the UN hasn't really sent any troops to Sudan. Despite people dying in droves, they're trying "sanctions" first. Yay UN! Probably haven't sent any because ours are mostly committed and no one else wants to volunteer because the area lacks anything of economic interest to anyone.

Knowing the Russians somewhat, I think they probably did try diplomacy. They probably shouted "What do you want?", someone shouted back "We want you to leave our homeland", and the Russians said "No" and started shooting. Of course, the only problem is that whatever special forces they use they tend to be a little less surgical than our own, at least it seems that way.
-
Given that "hostage-taker" does not in any way equal "freedom fighter", as "militant" does not equal "girl scout", seems to me this is a pretty minor issue to get all worked up about and you were just looking for another way to fan out your political peacock feathers.

Whatever Israels failings, or ours, I think the Palestinians have pretty much shown themselves to be unwilling, for a long long time, to reach a political solution even when the Israeli's have bent over backwards to make peace overtures.
