  8. thing that scared me was all the fucking immunizations. Plus they probably got some new "sarries" conncoction they are pumping now too.
  9. jersey finger, huh?? not laughing at you, just wondering where that name originated.
  10. Mountians are funny in that they reflect your motives and reasoning.(like a mirror,pond...etc.) Good, happy, group dynamics are what make GROUP trips fun. Combined power and judgement to overcome obstacles together. Soloing is you. Your power. Your discretion. Your motives. Why are you climbing? Analyize your motives for soloing. If you find the answer is anger, frustration, or a mere means of proving something, you will never summit, but only climb in bad style. Climb for the right reasons and your solo's will not be CHEATING, and will be rewarded with a fullfillment. You will know you accomplished something pure. A test for your motivation is when you look at the crux, which was obviously the rock band, did it present itself to you as an opportunity, or an obstacle?? I write this because it has taken me many climbs in the last 6 months to analyze a solo gone bad for myself. I was soloing Sargents Ridge on Shasta in February. A wind slab gave way, and i slid 400 vertical feet on 60 degree ice into a large basin. Besides a nasty ice burn in my back i managed to retreat unscathed. This is the first time i guess i have really written or said much about it, but the best thing is to learn from MISTAKES, and to recognize what causes them. Then go out to climb another day.
  11. fucking maniacs , funny but scary at the same time. Most people on this site are authentic with their reporting of skills, while others judgement is to be questioned.
  12. never dealt with that sort of "jumping cactus"?
  13. North sister(faith) is evil
  14. NICE!! A very rewarding day indeed!
  15. GYMS SUCK.
  16. Its the OSU gym, those little....Gotta get out, got my eyes on the fuhrer finger. Fence, you been back yet this year??
  17. I was just thrown out of the local climbing gym for climbign routes un-roped. I have climbed these routes a million times, and the walls are only 25-30 feet high. To make it worse it wasn't even the gym employees who saw me, but some fucking lame ass dude who rated me out. People sign waivers so there shouldn't be rules. Give me a break.
  18. yeah, leuthold couloir is good for rockfall late season! Aslo try the sandy glacier headwall.
  19. How are the snow conditions both avy and depth on the thayer headwall/east face of the north ,and the east face of the middle. Also the early morning couloir and the north east face of the north sister?? Thanks
  20. It seems that every climb i do these days is like a dream. When i get down, and reflect it seems like i have just lived a lifetime in a day, and the lifetime is just a hazy dream. My goal is to make the dream reality. Nick
  21. Rockies!
  22. I go for light running shoes for the approaches. I have strong ankles as well. I figure the amount of work i am doing moving my feet with that much wieght is way more work than carrying the weight on my back. I don't just figure that, it is a fact.RUNNING SHOES
  23. What happens if you get hit?? Oh well
