I was just reading this yesterday from metolius How to build a home bouldering wall it looks like it would be a fun project. just make sure you can afford to buy lots of holds. many holds and a good variety will definitely make it more interesting.

PUBLIC MEETING Friday, July 9, 2004 -- 7pm Icicle River Middle School "Protecting Amenities is a New 'Hot' Strategy for Local Development." by Gundars Rudzitis, PhD Gundars will present a 1/2-hour talk, followed by a question / answer session. This should be an interesting and informative evening discussing quality-of-life and culturally place-based development... why protection of the environment is linked to long-term stability and growth of our local economy... why maintaining a high quality environment can be a development strategy. anyone go to this? not a lot of new info happening but it appears the DUSEL proposal is still being considered.

a decent size wire brush does the trick, how big depends on how much moss/dirt/lichen you need to clean off.

sounds good except you really want a 60m for craggin'.

I have had that same problem resulting from backcountry skiing. First, stretch out your flexors regularly doing lunges, in addition to quads, hamstring, etc. Second, i use a stretchy rubber cord. fix one end to something and put the other end around your ankle and do knee lifts. this really works your flexor so start slow. the last thing is to take a anti-inflamitory before your activity, Aleve, this will help prevent inflamation and the resulting pain. this is only a temporary mesure, proper exercises should relieve this problem.

isn't anyone going to spray about how many months that have in a row? that was the original topic here. you can ski whenever you want but if you are trying to ski every month of the year for years on end you are definitely hiking far to ski crap at some point just so can you do what? spray about it, which i think is a weak reason.
-
they are probably doing a documentary on how sick and sprayworthy it is to be a 12 month a year the NW.

was just up in canmore last weekend. snow fell to the tree line last week. looked like more colder weather to come, i.e. summer is over.
-
how soon is that? i heard that same thing last spring!
-
how far did you have to walk to get those turns? and how many feet below that spot does the snow die out?

Where to bring small kids to climb (exit 32 or 38)

the gritscone is short but perfect for what you are talking about. you can also set up some TRs at write off rock but that place is a zoo sometimes. -
you gotta love it when people are out skiing just to say they were out skiing rather than actually getting some fun turns in. i am sure the conditions are awesome down at muir right now for all you yearround NW skiers.

i just saw a spool today that was 120m, i definitely would not want to lug that think around. why not just use double ropes? as for rapping it is not too hard to tie knots.

Used to be that way in Jackson hole, patrolers lurking to bust people, even cops on skis a couple of times. But now the boundaries are open all the time and if you get into trouble the county SAR is your only hope. i don't see why crystal couldn't do it, after all from JH you can ski off the back into Teton park, which is also a national park, and that does not seem to be a problem.

I think i would have felt the same way seeing a nest of spiders above me. there have been some pretty big spiders in my house the past couple of nights. i certainly don't relish the thought of them climbing all over me.

the heat will be gone soon enough, might as well enjoy it while lasts. try some swimming, i recommend lake washington, the itch isn't that bad, realy . or try some alpine lakes, cold and clean.

you should do the backbone. it has a bunch of chossy pitches in the middle but there is a couple good pitches low down and four nice pitches to finish it off.
-
Backbone on dragontail has a good offwidth pitch. and of course aries at index, sure that section is only 15ft but it is good chimney

cman replied to mortomr's topic in Central/Eastern Washington
Here your go http://people.whitman.edu/~pogue/climbing_areas.html he has got a pretty detailed guide for spring mountain, looks like there are lots of climbs. the tieton is a nice area, lot of trad and a little sport. If the new guide book for the area ever comes out i suspect it will become a lot more popular. -
