  1. That is somewhat true. the shifts are during the day, weekday and weekend. Summer camp is one entire week, but you get up to a 6 month membership for use next winter. BTW one year to the day between the 2 posts, pure coincidence.
  2. i liked becky route + concord tower, the 2 together were worth the reasonable hike. the tooth not classic backbone on dragontail, incredible setting, almost direct to summit. my only beef was for all the effort there were really only 5 quality pitches, the offwidth down low and 4 on the fin. that said it was great to do once.
  3. skiing mt baker. i tried three springs in a row and got it the third time. i have not wanted to go back since. Memorable exchange from the second attempt. a member of our group standing about 20ft away from us in a whiteout "where are you guys? i can't see you?" reply "we can see you! we're right here!" "I can't see you" "wipe off you goggles" "oh, there you are"
  4. we did that route a couple weeks ago. good times. it was easier than i expected. the hike was a pain, i guess i need to get in better shape.
  5. we did iconoclast, to the left of OS, last year and my partner was saying the same thing. there were enough anchors and fixed slings in that area to rap down but it was hardly straightforward from what we saw. unless someone has set up some more anchors it did not look like something i would recommend. also i am not sure where you would start, i assume at the top of the bolted routes to the left of OS.
  6. Lacing the mythos is a pain but not too bad. just get 2 paper clips and fashion one as a little hook and the other straigt to push. also you might want to spend a few minutes to understand how they are actually laced up before you take them apart.
  7. It is that time of year again, set yourself up for next winter with some free membership by volunteering to belay groups and individuals. All the above details still apply.
  8. They are sold. thanks to everybody you expressed interest.
  9. also first priority goes to whoever wants to take them all.
  10. BD Camalots in good condition. single stem but not this years version. #1 & #2 - $30 each #4 - $40 #4.5 - $50 PM if interested. i would rather not ship but could if necessary.
  11. anyone head up to rattletale on sunday? how did you like that stylin' trail? congrats to dcramer for organizing this whole thing.
  12. i found a partner but you guys should try to meet up.
  13. index on sunday. was out there today doing the work party and it was nice and dry. anyone interested PM. also would be willing to hit up north bend.
  14. afternoon/after work climbing? i could go thursday somtime after 1-2pm, could go to index or north bend, depending when we leave. more fun than going to the gym.
  15. the place with the waterslides seems to be ok and cheap. we stayed at a pay place just south of town along the water, it was nice. seems like the pay places are the way to go unless you like that commute.
  16. Just printed out my letters. I'll have to convince a few other slackers i know to do the same, espcially since in only took a minute. nice job writing those things up matt.
  17. weather says afternoon t-showers but the morning looks ok. anyone up for a little sport at x32. i also want to go to index but the prospect of rain dampens my enthusiasm for the drive. post or PM.

    Ingalls

it is a little snowy and wet right now. if the weather clears up could be ok.
  19. i got to climb at the UW gym last weekend. i thought it was really fun. the freeform wall was cool but i could see it being hard to make new routes much different. i really liked the panel wall, nice bulges and some nice edges and smears. if i could get in there easier it would be a great place to train.
  20. I heard that the forest service has deemed the road not safe and in need of repair. when will repair happen? who knows but it may not be this summer. hopefully we can do something to generate some support, you know any congress men or women?, and encourage the FS to open the road back up. i really wanted to do dreamer this summer, 5 miles of biking will just add to the challange.

    Gotama

Ebay has some good deals on them, especially if you want the marker bindings. http://search.ebay.com/volkl-gotama_W0QQ...ntrypageZsearch
  22. what sobo said, get the new guide book. i think there about 20 different areas in the tieton river valley, trad sport multi-pitch. i usually pick a place and climb there for the day. royal columns is the most popular. i have heard that lava point has the best sport climbing, but have yet to go.
  23. 2005 season started months ago, what have you been doing?
  24. i checked out my house. it is really cool, i am not sure how much use the sat photos really are, except to attract people who think they are cool.
  25. that is cool of snoqualmie. i don't know what you expect of these other places. they probably lost millions this year already, are they supposed to lose more next year before the season even starts? besides all of you know that you will be frothing at the mouth as soon as it starts snowing next year. seriously, the thought of all that powder, you'll probably be thanking these same jackasses for just staying in business. i am already fired up for a few good days.
