I just wish she'd say "all-around climbing competition climber" Then I wouldn't have a beef, because (judging by her resume), she's done that. However, leaving out that key word implies a LOT more than she is (or at least more than she has listed on her resume). As I've said, I respect someone who has accomplished that much, especially at age 15, however, I would appreciate it if she didn't try to make herself up to be something she's not.

it's not that they don't function, it's more that the range and sensitivity is compromised. A 10 year old beacon will probably work fine, but in a much smaller area. I too have heard the 5 year timeframe, but I don't remember where.

It'd be one thing if she didn't say she was the "all-around climbing champion" (and I would think that by definition, champion is a single person, group, or entity), however, by stating that she says she's better than any other person out there.

There's a big difference here, E-Rock. This girl seems to have self-imposed the title on herself. In the case of the pro teams, the winner of that competition is deemed the world champs by default (coming from the governing bodies of that sport), not by the teams themselves.

I think it's great that she can pull 13's, and has accomplished what she has, but "all-around climbing champion"? That's rediculous! She climbed the Nose at 12, but how did she climb it? Where did someone see the info that she just jugged up following a Yos hardman? That and the fact that she onsited a 13a at Red River Gorge are the ONLY non-competition climbing accomplishments listed on the website. Other than that she's just done well at competitions. I hardly think that qualifies her as an "all-around climbing champion".
