Climb: Mt. Adams-NFNWR
Date of Climb: 7/5/2004
Trip Report:
After skiing the NFNWR two weeks ago, I wanted more. So I headed back with Dave Coleman. In the parking lot we ran into PlumbBob and his buddy, down from Alaska on a volcano tour. Bob was planning on skiing the NFNWR as well, so we joined forces, climbed the north ridge on Monday after a spectacular bivy Sunday. We got up to the West Peak at 1:30, and started skiing at 2. We took a break on a rock band after a few hundred feet, to let the corn soften up a bit more. We found the (narrow) gap, threaded between the rock bands, and found an easy exit to the Adams Glacier. Sickness.
Here's Dave on the Adams.
What a way to wrap up the official season.
My God, I'm unproductive today.
Gear Notes:
Didn't take rope, crampons, or axes. Climbed NR in sneakers.
Approach Notes:
Trail is snow free to the meadows, patchy to last trees, where we bivied.
