  3. Uh-huh. That's what you said before I disproved your theory about the lack of fun in slogging up and down volcanoes. We will get the infidel on skis. Yessss....we will....

  12. Climb: Mt. Adams-NFNWR Date of Climb: 7/5/2004 Trip Report: After skiing the NFNWR two weeks ago, I wanted more. So I headed back with Dave Coleman. In the parking lot we ran into PlumbBob and his buddy, down from Alaska on a volcano tour. Bob was planning on skiing the NFNWR as well, so we joined forces, climbed the north ridge on Monday after a spectacular bivy Sunday. We got up to the West Peak at 1:30, and started skiing at 2. We took a break on a rock band after a few hundred feet, to let the corn soften up a bit more. We found the (narrow) gap, threaded between the rock bands, and found an easy exit to the Adams Glacier. Sickness. Here's Dave on the Adams. What a way to wrap up the official season. My God, I'm unproductive today. Gear Notes: Didn't take rope, crampons, or axes. Climbed NR in sneakers. Approach Notes: Trail is snow free to the meadows, patchy to last trees, where we bivied.
  13. The large purple metolius (#8) equates to a 2.5 perfectly. Metolius cams suck the big .
  14. A 1.5 camalot would rule. But they need a 2.5, too.
  15. Yeah, we shifted our plans by one day, Dave had to work on Saturday. We still had some pretty damn nice snow.
  16. Hey Dave! Why didn't you come say hi? We did the NFNWR on Monday.

  19. It doesn't work because a comma is not the same as a period. If you can't figure out the correct address, then you might want to check out this book:
  20. Runout!
  21. I read Extreme Alpinism. I own the book; it is one of the best climbing books I've read. I also own Kiss or Kill. I liked it. A lot. I went to his slideshow. And I found the man repulsive. His attitude and arrogance I can live with, what I found repulsive is his self-destructive tendencies. Overall, I found him to be an excellent example of an irresponsible lifestyle. Also, his general attitude of 'to be as cool as me, you have to climb these routes, but either you'll die, or all your friends will die' stuck me as pointless. Interstingly, I went to Scott Backes' slideshow and greatly enjoyed it. He struck me as a more 'normal' person, taking what many of us live for to an extremely high level. Twight was perhaps a bit too psychotic. Sorry, Gotterdamerung, you'll have to wait a few years.
  22. I thought/hoped that this is obvious to the majority of the US population. Please don't tell me that I'm wrong.
  23. My sleep is quite depraved these days. I was worried when it started becoming corrupt, but it's beyond hope now.
  24. Ice climbing and skiing! Anytime!
  25. Hi Distel! I mean, Rudy. Piss off bizzatch! I swear I'm going to drag your anorexic ass out on skis one of these days. I'm sure jdog will be happy to help.
