so apparently in coldfinger's version of the santorum world, i don't work but i've got to cook bacon. i'm not sure this is sounding so bad. WTH are you guys bitching about? I'm pretty sure I can make time between servings of bacon to at least get to the crag.

thanks Doug probably not going to be able to avoid the surgery. still trying PT though. my X went through 2 shoulder surgeries. After watching him in the days after it, i am NOT looking forward to it. that experience has totally freaked me out.

I think it was well written and thought provoking. I quit climbing for years when my son was little b/c I couldn't get into a mental place where I could risk my life climbing with a little one at home. As it turns out, I do four other things regularly that are more likely to kill me. All of them are optional. I know more people who have died or been seriously injured riding horses than I do climbing or skiing. I had never thought about that until Tvash posted that dumb link. I don't think there is a right or wrong to this. I don't think its necessary to justify to the rest of the world the choice to spend time in the mountains. yes they can kill you. I think you, and your family have to be able to accept the risk. The world is not a risk free place. Many cool things would not have been done or discovered if people weren't willing to take some risks.

well i do like my cats but they aren't in the realm of the amazing oscar kitty who was given to me by a cc.com member or the original awesom cat bill. sadly these two have a looooong way to go but have not yet successfully made me spill my drink. though i sort of wish they had saturday night.
