  1. In Canada, even radar detectors are illegal, are they not?
  2. Erik, if you are responding publicly to a private e-mail, then that is not kosher. At least let us know what it was he said.

  4. The test violates the Rule of One, which states that only one variable be tested at a time. Sounded to me as though there were always two knots in the test, so one would have to break before the other.
  5. Uh, isn't this device slightly illegal?
  6. How did the Donovan song Mellow Yellow get its name?
  7. This was discussed. The metal wands are said to melt out too quickly and fall over compared to the bamboo ones. Isn't that right, To-the-Top?
  8. Good luck, sir.
  9. You butt pirates ought to take the advice of Henry Purcell gave over three hundred years ago: "Man is for the woman made, And the woman made for man; As the spur is for the jade, As the scabbard for the blade, As for digging is the spade, As for liquor is the can, So man is for the woman made, And the woman made for man. As the scepter to be sway'd, As for night's the serenade, As for pudding is the pan, And to cool us is the fan, So man is for the woman made, And the woman made for man. Be she widow, wife or maid, Be she wanton, be she stayed, Be she well or ill array'd, Whore, bawd or harridan, Yet man is for the woman made, And the woman made for man."
  10. Beck, you always wear a funny hat.

Sylvester Sneekly looks like Burgess Meridith.
  13. I'll buy that.
  14. She'll do a testicular resection on you without anaesthetic.
  15. I'd do it with a template, but not otherwise. I suppose one could make a template from an old BD drilled hex. I can see why they are no longer sold. It's terribly labor intensive to drill holes. The price would be greater than what people would be willing to pay.
  16. What are you talking about? Sure, you can frontpoint in G-10s. Picture
  17. A friend of mine had testicular cancer. Recovered completely. He's now the owner of one brass ball. Actually, I have no idea what they use for prostheses these days.
  18. http://www.bdel.com/gear/rock/protection.php#hexes my gawd. its a cowbell. That's what people call 'em. The poor man's #4 Camalot.
  19. This thread has been done aready. That's why.
  20. How about hot springs.
  21. Are these custom drilled or were they commercially available at one time? If custom, how does one know whether strength is compromised? I do know that many structures can have material removed with almost no compromise on strength. One example is aluminum booms on sailboats. An aerospace engineer friend cut out panels from the side of the boom on his San Juan 30 and claimed it was actually stronger. I had to take his word for it.

Get a life. I probably don't post even half of the trips I do.
  23. I believe hexes are lighter than cams across the entire size range. Tricams are even lighter for their size. Ain't that right, Dru?
  24. A pertinant thread: What Dru Says. See here too.
  25. The weather was nice. We KNOW you were out climbing. So start typing. Let's see the trip reports. You don't need to chest beat (unless you want to).
