  1. It they did have 1912 and 1914 coins it would be stupid indeed to melt them down. They'll probably just hold them and sell the rest, or else trickle a few onto the market each year over many years.
  2. Yeah and you're the one starting it. I for all his faults, the Republicans would be nuts to abandon Dubya. Ya hafta go to the dance with the one what brung ya.
  3. Dubyas base of conservative commentators are getting anxious. They appear to be getting ready to desert him, even Bill O'Reilly. Bush's Political Base Seems Restive, Anxious
  4. I've used this NikWax stuff. I can't claim it works all that great.
  5. How was the plodding on the Cowlitz? You know you can follow the rocks of the cleaver to avoid postholing and/or avy danger on the Cowlitz. It takes a bit longer, though.
  6. "He" being Garth Bruce?
  7. Sorry, Niger.
  8. No, do you think they would hire me? I think this "letter" is a safe one for the administration because they figure it will be much more difficult for anyone to uncover the truth than it was with the yellow cake hoax. In that case all that was necessary was to go to Nigeria and check it out. It isn't so easy to go to Al Queda to check out this story. And in any case, there is no momentous decision that hinges on this discovery, such as whether to go to war.
  9. You left out the part about "cold dead fingers".
  10. What it comes down to is The Administration places greater value in the Space Station than Hubbell. The safety issue is a red herring. The space station is legacy of Dubya's pappy, and a part of the new Mars initiative, so it comes first.
  11. Oh, you mean the judge Silberman who overturned Oliver North's conviction for illegally sending weapons to Iran, one of the nations belonging to the "Axis of Evil"?
  12. What do YOU know?
  13. HRoark is trying to be funny like trask, but only the offensive part is coming through.
  14. He would but he is "on the shelf". As long as he's there, he ain't misbehavin'.
  15. HRoark's reaction tells me I've hit the mark. The neocons are upset with me for casting aspersions. We all know that Bush would never use phony intellegence to further his own aims.
  16. No one to talk with, All by myself, No one to walk with, But I'm happy on the shelf Ain't misbehavin', I'm savin' my love for you I know for certain, The one I love, I through with flirtin', It's just you I'm thinkin' of. Ain't misbehavin', I'm savin' my love for you Like Jack Horner in the corner Don't go no where, What do I care, Your kisses are worth waitin' for Be-lieve me I don't stay out late, Don't care to go, I'm home about eight, Just me and my radio Ain't misbehavin', I'm savin' my love for you
  17. I led Ride 'Em Cowboy, 5.9 and OlympicMtnBoy led Party in Your Pants, 5.8.
  18. I offer you my sincerest condolences.
  19. I was unaware of any link between fluoroquinolones and NSAIDs like Ibuprofen in tendon rupture. I don't even think this is universally recognized by doctors. Where did you learn this?
  20. Some fear is good. Too much fear is very unpleasant.
  21. Lummox, you are very practical.
  22. The data that I've seen suggests that screamers have an effect that is more than additive. Its not just energy absorbed by rope plus energy absorbed by the screamer. The screamer extends the time over which the rope is allowed to stretch. I know that the elasticity of some materials is time dependent, that is, they stretch under a steady load, but resist stretch under a shock load. Think of the Silly Putty you played with as a child. Pull on it slowly and it stretches. Pull sharply and it breaks. Rope isn't nearly this extreme, but I'd bet there is some time dependency with regard to impact force.
  23. Isn't that true only in the Northern Hemisphere?
  24. The weather was too unsettled and there was too much new snow for Leuthold's Couloir. It might have been fine, but we didn't want to risk driving 5.5 hours just to find out.
  25. Good on yer mate.
