    Mesothelioma

Personal injury lawyers have bid up the price of the ads for mesothelioma that accompany search results for this asbestos related lung disease. In Google, you will find a list of Sponsor Links on the right side of your screen. If you searched using the word "mesothelioma", there will be several ads, such as the one for the Roberts Law firm (http://www.cliffroberts.com/asbestos.htm). According to the Wall Street Journal, everytime you click on one of these links, a lawyer pays Google $100. I'm not saying that a bunch of you should actually do this...
  6. This thread reminds me of the "What If?" contests my little brother and I used to have when we were kids. The emphasis is on the creativity, if not the logic.
  7. We can't be making this too easy, otherwise the gallery might get a bulk upload of porn.
  8. Contact ClimbingGirl33. She's real enough.
  9. French Soldier: I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries! Arthur: Is there someone else up there we could talk to? French Soldier: No, now go away before I taunt you a second time. French Knight: You don't frighten us, English pig dogs! Go and boil your bottoms, you sons of a silly person! I blow my nose at you, so-called "Arthur King," you and all your silly English K-nig-hts.
  10. REI carries the 3/8 inch Stainless Wedge type bolts in three lengths, both single and double, and hangars by both Metolius and Fixe. The camouflaged bolts on Dark Rhythm are so well blended to the rock, you can have a hard time spotting them even when you are on route
  11. You can use the rope with a Garda knot instead of a foot prussik, but it is only good for one foot, and if you want to take off your pack and let it dangle from the bight of rope, this wouldn't work. I'd say it is more appropriate as a rock climbing rescue technique where you don't have a pack to deal with, and you don't put prussiks on the rope in advance.
  12. What made America different from Europe with regard to social mobility was all the free land we had at one time. If you weren't happy with your economic situation, you could just "strike out West", and maybe your luck would change. That period is long past. The quick fortunes are not as easily made. We are becoming much more like Europe.
  13. You ain't a regular, are you?
  14. Some folks gotta play the fisherman and some gotta play the fish for this here system to work.
  15. The Brits expect this of their heroes. They'd be disappointed if it were any other way.
  16. The plate is to prevent the prussik from jamming in the pulley. A Bachman knot can be used instead of a prussik and it tends to self-manage much better if you don't happen to have a plate. Heck, you could cut yourself a prussik minding plate out of a 1/8" aluminum disk. It would be lighter than the Sticht plate.
  17. "And, oh yeah, I’m talking regular plain old perlon accessory cord, not Kevlar, Spectra, Gemini, or Titan cord. " Excel is good at removing "w00t". I wouldn't have any problem with the strength of 5mm for my personal prussiks, but for crevasse rescue, I'd want 6 mm because you can exert more force than body weight using a 3:1 Z-Pulley. To get the necessary grip on 8 mm, you might have to go with a kleimheist.
  18. Working up to 5.2, Dan? Bwahahahah!
  19. Nickerson was a pretty good place, I thought. Not smokey, good beer, a bit crowded though, but lively. All the usual suspects were there. Started out as a bit of a sausage fest. I introduced my buddy Jim S. I think he may end up a regular before long. I almost forgot! Fenderfour made his first appearance to Pub Club. Welcome, Fenderfour!
  20. The only nomination for Lifetime Achievement is Dru. Certainly he wins for post count, but is that all there is to aspire to? When I think about it I realize it is really hard. I mean it's like trying to ask a kid to choose his favorite rubber bathtub toy. I would have to nominate trask, because he is also deserving. On the other hand, trask is also a good candidate for Most Annoying.
  21. You could paint the inside with Thompson's Water Sealer and it would be dry as can be.
  22. You assume that the rock is solid. It has to be solid for thousands of miles. What if it isn't?
  23. I found it! It was by Fleblebleb, who coincidentally has been dropping in again. Caught Out During Storm.
