  1. Is that him posting on Cascade Bike Club's forum?
  2. Somehow, I'd be surprised if you told me you made fun of Cecil Fielder's name in front of his face.

    Ambergris

You have a very good point there.

    Ambergris

Ambergris is essentially cholesterol, or closely related to it. There are synthetic or semi-synthetic alternatives now for perfume fixatives. I always wondered what they meant by the term "fixative", so I looked it up. Perfumes are mixtures of compounds, some volatile and others less volatile. Fixatives are waxy or oily substances that dissolve the more volatile components and prevent them from evaporating too rapidly from the skin. Without fixative your expensive perfume would only last minutes.
  5. It seems like it has been a long time since a Chair Peak NF trip report.
  6. Yeah, by the time I found out what happened, you already had the situation under control.
  7. Dave Ross interviewed the attorney bringing this lawsuit. As Click and Clack, The Tappet Brothers, would put it, this guy is completely "unemcumbered by the thought process".
  8. I still have fond memories of the last time Beck attended a Pub Club. It was at the Ballard Alehouse. He got so drunk that when he got on his bike to ride home, he crashed before he even got across the street. A couple of us went out and helped pick him up and send him on his way.

  10. Moon Unit Zappa Byron Peebles Emily Remily
  11. I survived catturdeat (account deleted?) and catturdpee (three posts). I suspect their owners were banned.
  12. Mea Culpa for the thread drift.
  13. How about "plab". That word is still in, isn't it?
  14. That may be so, but they don't work as well.
  15. Brown girl in the ring, tra la-la la-la There? a brown girl in the ring, tra la la la la la Brown girl in the ring, tra la-la la-la She looks like a sugar in a plum, plum plum
  16. No, the reason is that they are more versatile than twins.
  17. I saw a bunch of Cassin camming devices at the Pacific Feather Company sale in November 2004. It was the first time I'd ever seen, let alone heard of Cassin cams. I wasn't very impressed, especially with the larger sizes which struck me as being so narrow as to be unstable.
  18. Surely the rope is under stress, but it is unclear how much strain it is experiencing, or whether, in fact the load is indeed static and not dynamic. The other unknows include whether Dru owns the complete Boney M. music library, and whether photographs exist of him in any of his Boney M. costumes.
  19. I have the same concerns that you have. It seems that the impact force of half ropes keeps decreasing to the point that 2X the impact force is not a lot greater than that of a single rope. I prefer to clip separately unless I have a good reason to do otherwise. I know climbers who almost always clip double, unless the route wanders. The factors that go into the decision whether to clip double or not would include the amount of rope out, and the distance to the nearest ledge that you could hit, and/or run out to the next placement.
  20. It's BRING THE SMACKDOWN. If you're going to try to be all iTough at least get the f'ing words right. Iain, you have to remember which avatar you are using at the moment. Sometimes, it appears you forget.
  21. Some of us have "no-compromise bodies". This explains why some of us have to eat so much to maintain our weight.
  22. Just stating your unbiased opinion.
  23. Exit 32 Pub Club. Those were good times! Wayne1112 was watching that dog, if I remember correctly, and that's dryad trying her best to look distracted.
  24. Paddy Coynes Can't make it this week, but Paddy's sounds pretty cool.
