  1. I'm not kidding. Choss means loose, manky rock. I wasn't talking about quality, which is another issue entirely. By and large the rock at Exit 38 is solid, with the except of the road cut.
  2. The only choss at Exit 38 is the Deception area which features cliff faces blasted out for a railroad cut. Since it is the closest climbing area and one that most newcomers see, it is resposible for the choss reputation.
  3. 90% of the posts on any of the CCH threads on RC.com consist one of the following: 1) I love my Aliens and will continue to use them. 2) I hope my Aliens are not from the affected Lots. 3) Please send me your defective Aliens and I will dispose of them properly. In order to reduce wastage of storage space on CC.com, simply post the number 1, 2 or 3 to express your opinion.
  4. I enjoy climbing at both places. There are even a few walls that overhang enough to climb in the rain if you know where to go. So it's not the greatest climbing in the world. It's close and sure beats the rock gym. Have fun.
  5. Yes a great book. You are thinking of the Skid Road which is Yesler Way.
  6. How about this one : Denny Hill ==>
  7. You are absolutely correct in that and don't let anyone tell you differently.
  8. Sometimes two genes are inserted at the same time. One gene produces some desired product or characteristic. The other is there just to demonstrate that the other one also must be there. Care to elaborate Pax?
  9. Wasn't that hypothesis already proven? Yes. Repeatedly. This is nothing new. I've made flourescent mice. It's pretty routine actually. And CBS is wrong. Just because you can express gene A does NOT mean you can express gene B. I was trolling for you, dude.
  10. I didn't say it was easy. Where's that guy from the frozen north who likes them so well?
  11. Not a waste of time. It proves a concept. Once you can reproducibly introduce one gene (and more importantly, express it) you can introduce any other gene you want.
  12. They only become fixed if you don't know how to place them properly or your second doesn't know how to clean them. I've never had any trouble with them.
  13. Lake Duwamish ==> Garcia Peak ==> (an easy one) McDonough's Island ==> See-quim (pr.) ==> Got any others?
  14. Ever worked at a small business that is instituting a recall? I have. Believe me, it isn't fun.
  15. Yes, that's the one.
  16. Will someone please tell me what any of this has to do with the UW Outdoor Wall?
  17. Oh, goody, I just learned a new knot- The Blake's Hitch. Now what's so special about it? It's a friction knot that can be used with a single strand of cord. It's like a taught line hitch on steroids.
  18. Are you sponsored by Zero Cams, or what? Wild Country sure is getting a lot of free testimonials out of you.
  19. Three out of nine failed at below the rated strength, but Mr. Fish won't tell us how much below. Arrgghhh.
  20. Indeed. On days when you can't climb well, it can be better to suck.
  21. I think Dave blew it by posting at all on RC.com. Whatever he might have said, they'd jump all over him for it, just to be cool. Internet forums are not the way to do business.
