  1. Could be bug, hard to see under the hood, could be James Carville.
  2. Ya have to wonder - anytime you're knee-deep in rats, can the 4 horsemen of the APOCALYPSE be far behind? Rat link Albrecht Durer
  3. Holy f*ing crap!
  4. Not my route this time although the hair is pretty much gone it seems - but great TR as usual Ivan! I have a hand drill you can borrow anytime and this is a great spot for it to be utilized (*cough* cough* 2 of them *cough*), HOWEVER, you should check the current process on getting bolt approval and this line finished.
  5. Hmmm, I like the illusion of trying to maintain some balance Fairweather:-) I believe that most news organizations try. I like the amount of stories that get linked on Drudge, but find it upsetting that he's only parading the ones he likes, which looks to be pro-McCain Anti-Obama currently. If someone in the news wants to editorialize, I don't mind it if they are honest and upfront about it. That's why trad news has an "Editorial" page. This, to me, seems underhanded and dishonest. Here's a site I like better: http://www.thedailybeast.com/ It brings some great, in depth stories of real issues or interest. Although yesterday, I was sadly unable to get the Larry Flynt video sampler of the Sarah Palin XXX movie to work for me. Like today, I can't get the "Obama and McCain in Breakdance Battle" going either.
  6. During the primary, Sludge took a hard stance against Hillary, and was posting any story that has a slight anti-Hillary bent. Now, you need to realize, I was not then, nor am I now, a Hillary supporter. However, to see a web page full of stories with an anti-Hillary bent that wouldn't make the back page of the local paper hit the front page of Drudge was painful to watch. There was no negative Obama stories on Drudge at that time. I figured he just disliked Hillary. It makes Fox seem truly fair and balanced. Dmuja, that link is 4 years old, anything newer?
  7. OK, I know I said I was going to stop reading Matt Drudge after the hack job he did on Hillary before the election, but I didn't. So I'm perusing it today and every political story - damn near EVERY one, (with 1 exception) is pro McCain and Anti-Obama. Go check it out link Big headline "Biden grilled: Is Obama Marxist"? Other headlines: " YOU'RE PUNISHED: OBAMA CAMPAIGN CUTS OFF TV STATION AFTER TOUGH BIDEN INTERVIEW... ZOGBY SUNDAY: Single day of polling, 49% to 46% in favor of Obama... Developing... McCain warns against Dem takeover... Obama hits McCain on economy... Palin's alarm on nanny state... Judge tosses lawsuit challenging citizenship... OBAMA STAFFERS PULL THEIR BOGUS OHIO BALLOTS... Krauthammer: McCain For President... The Washington insider who made Obama rich..." The Palin story is her complaining how Obama will turn us into a nanny state. What a bunch of BS editorializing.
  8. non issue. Boxers or briefs?
  9. See how what goes around comes around? FOLLOWING IS A WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND TRUTH IS STRANGER THAN FICTION PICTORIAL ie, lets free associate the tawana brawley which predated this stupid event. HEH HEH, hey, it's politics. It's obvious we can blame either Barak or McCain here. Hows it feel?
  10. Hmmm, well, I'd be fine with that as long as we were not subjected to pics of McCain or Dole wearing them. Because in that case I would pay extra to NOT see that kind of thing. Being an ad-man has to be a tough job sometimes.
  11. link This has the makings of a pretty damn funny joke if people would stop trying to stuff it back down folks throats. People, and the press, are just too damn politically correct these days, and it's spot on the money how the press try's to create stories out of insignificant nothings so as to garner headlines. Here's this insignificant issue de jour, which is probably pretty funny if you could hit the timing on the money. "U.S. Sen. John Kerry (D-Boston): addressing a business summit on energy issues, kicked off his remarks with some light-hearted banter. "These are the exciting last two week moments of the presidential campaign," the Boston Democrat said. "So it's a very special time. I can't wait for it to be over. I am so tired of the press' silly questions that they ask along the way. And cable television which reduces everything to stupidity - the lowest common denominator of conflict." Kerry tried to relay to the audience what it is like to face the press corps' inquiries. "I don't know if any of you know what it's like. I do, obviously," he said. "I've been asked all of those brilliant questions that were repeated this year." "Barack got asked the famous boxers or briefs question," Kerry went on. "I was tempted to say commando." The senator said Obama successfully parried that question but that John McCain, the GOP nominee, had some problems. "Then they asked McCain and McCain said, ‘Depends,'" Kerry said to lots of laughter from the crowd." Depends...heh heh...I think it got recycled from Bob Dole, but still a classic.
  12. Since our country was founded - this has worked pretty good. As far as you folks who want to restrict honest citizens from having this control, you might consider that the largest acts of deadly terrorism were caused by: A) box cutters. (and Arabs with commandeered airplanes) b) fertilizer. (and a rental U-haul truck) Not guns. The idea that you can give up some of your guns is typical creeping incrementalism. At some time in the future, some piss-ant lil punk will walk into a school with his dads "legal" hunting rifle and a "legal" 5 round mag or 3 and that will be the next thing restricted. Then another incident followed by more un-needed laws and restrictions - then more laws. The net result is an eventual unbalancing of political things. But you, john Q public, are still at risk from box cutters and fertilizer. All the new future laws against firearms will do is give the politicians more power, since they will still have the guns. They'll figure out a way to protect themselves against the box cutters and fertilizer of course, and get a net power gain. My point is this: the system we have is not perfect but works. I don't for the life of me know why any of you want to give up this control to the politicians. There are too many laws already. Leave it alone.
  13. Well, I was waiting and waiting and waiting for someone else to say this and evidently I'm the rare person on here who reads others postings? Is this thing on? Here goes. You're late.
  14. WHERES KEVBONE? ps that first guy reminded me of a person playing a harp. Is the 2nd guy doing the Donkey Kong theme or the Pac man theme? maybe a combo?
  15. 6 SHOOTER = VOTES?
  16. Hmm, good point, how about we say "Capitalist Communist China" or "Communist Capitalist China" and split the difference? I don't think they go by "Red" anymore. I think it's "Republic of China" for Taiwan and ....hmmm...must be something...ahhh, wiki has it "People's Republic of China". Ahah! Suspiciously, I checked the CIA factbook site for the name, and the Taiwan/"Capitalist Communist China" reunification/war is totally absent. Surely I must have missed it. They have a long page on multinational conflicts China has with Inda and many others... https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ch.html
  17. Maybe she didn't inhale?
  18. Nice point (although I beg to differ as guns DO matter): I've sent in emails to representatives about this, and there are court cases moving along which I expect to stop the practice. As far as I know, no one has been hauled off "somewhere for interrogation" yet due to an illegal wiretap, although I bet its happened. In either case, I expect (maybe it's just a hope) this intrusive practice to end. There have been various journalistic abuses as well, and I think we should be as informed, concerned and proactive as we can be to correct these issues when we trip over any of this kind of thing. Too many folks think that that it doesn't matter and they have no voice at all, and that merely grumbling about it on some random internet chat like this matters, when in fact that alone does very little. The link Fear and Greed posted earlier on another thread concerning the economic issues and challenges is another current one...although I do suspect that is truly out of our hands and we really are screwed on that one. They'll have to move fast and when they go to figure out why it's so F*ed up after the fact, fait accompli, too late bubbas.

    God Loves Obama

Shhhh, not so loud please...Bush was saying the same thing 8 years ago and was projected to lose as well close to election time...shhhhhhh quietly please...don't go tempting unseen forces to toss it back in your face...it's true I don't like either party this run, but 8 years of McCain-Palin ......... shhhhh........
  20. but again, the guns out there aren't checking or balancing a damn thing, like joe said - the 82nd airborne can probably take on every gun-nut in the country together and come out just fine, no? You mean like the entire Wehrmacht against a handful of Jews in Poland? Doubtful the 82nd airborne would do that against their brothers and sisters. I'd look to any banana republic that has banned guns as a role model for the potential without them.
  21. It has nothing to do with self defense for me and everything to do with balance of powers. Checks and Balances. Strictly for political reason....for me. BTW, I don't disagree that Barak will not be better than the alternative. There's no doubt to me that Barak doesn't have a lot going for him. He's extremely talented in many areas, with lots of positive charcteristics. I still find him hugely lacking.
  22. It's interesting in that when interviewed or polled, most Americans feel that some "Terrorists" are our biggest enemies, yet China and Russia are still global players internationally - and not really our "Buddies". In fact, Communist China has proclaimed for home consumption that they will forcibly annex Taiwan within the next few years. Hmmmm....
  23. Biden didn't say Terrorists at all. He said "Like John Kennedy". Kennedy was looking at the literal end of the world as it was a potential total nuclear war with the Soviets. That's what Biden is talking about. Like he says: "MARK MY WORDS". Pretty startling and surprising as Biden is a pretty savvy guy generally. full quote: " "Mark my words, it will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America...Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.""
  24. Time will tell if Obama is an honest politician. I suspect he has enough weasel words in his policy statements that much like the Bible, it can be interpreted any way you'd like. Here's the link for now if you want to see the PDF of that policy. Link And one that contradicts it: Urban Policy "Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn't have them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets."
  25. That's not true according to his literature. I'll look for a link. My thoughts: To those who want the gov't to control weapons. I'd ask you to look around at the people you know...your neighbors and climbing partners...the question is: do YOU trust them more than you trust the President? If the answer is yes, then consider how you feel about them having weapons and control vs just the current "great leader" or the next "great leader". Bottom line for me: A) Political power can and does come from weapons (look around the globe for examples). B) I trust my fellow citizens (that's pretty much all you, even the assholes on this site) more than I trust the power hungry people who often run for office. I want all of you to have weapons to provide a check and a balance on those other assholes. Simple choice for me.
