GOOD NEWS! Just got word that the Squamish forest district ( map here ) is reopening! So forest land and FS roads are open. BC Parks is following suit, so the Shannon Falls area, and the Chief backside trails are open again. No word on the Smoke Bluffs yet, but they will probably be not far behind. Of course, we have had only a little rain, so prudence is still required, and I believe the and smoking restrictions will still be in effect. edit: the smoking and fire bans are still in effect.

Yes it is. We had a little rain, but not nearly enough to reduce the risk. The fire Chief has said that we need about three days of solid rain just to reduce the hazard from Extreme to High. Don't worry, we will be the first to post here when it opens up!

The Climber's Access Society of BC had planned a Trail work day for the Grand Wall boulders this Saturday, Sept 6th. Because of the fire ban, and risk, that day has been postponed indefinetly.

You'll have to complain to infopop. This version it is not an option, looked in to it for some one already.

Stupidest invention ever to hit the climbing world if it's anything like the DMM ones. Let's take a really good design (wire gate) and screw it up so we can be first to market with a "cool" design... Putting the knob (mass) on the end of the wire brings back gate flutter or slap, twisting the wire around to hold the knob makes them harder to clip. I see no advantage of a keylock wire gate over a Putzl Spirit or BD's new keylocks, except maybe a couple grams lighter.
