Nelson feels like the big city to me these days! I like being <5 min to the skiing. Rest assured, it's not just you... plenty of others out there too. I wasn't trying to say any one place is better than the other, just that here has some really cool history, that I am just learning about.

I am reading a history of the town where I am living, and it turns out to be an extrememly cool place... Thor Heyerdahl lived here when the Germans invaded Norway. It is, to some extent, the birthplace of the 8 hour day, and the Worker's Compensation Board. Also home to ski champions and was a big part of making Spoakne WA what it is.

Just like anyone else charging for use of natural resoursces, they get a lease, or in some cases maybe bought the land long ago, build pools, and ticket booths... I don't like the ones you pay. You might as well go to the local Aquatic Centre!
