  1. Economically, it's probably a lot like having a pro sports team, right?
  2. I use Dynafits exclusively and I love them.
  3. Last night, Ross and I spent a few hours hanging select ski and scenery shots, mostly mine, at World Cup. See World Cup linkage for location and rave reviews. They'll be on the wall through October. Please go have a look! If you'd like to see a display of debauchery along with the photography, I'll be at World Cup Thursday night (10/5) circa seven, moving down to dollar pitchers at Dante's some time after eight. PRAY FOR SNOW! Sky
  4. Finish with Crack of Doom!
  5. I started laybacking, had a foot slip, and fell on those stupid rocks when I first hopped on Damnation two years ago. Damnation!
  6. Rocktober ski descent?

    Hey Oly

You can look at Denny Creek by making one savvy click once you get here: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/passes/snoqualmie/ Looks pretty dry.
  8. Cool pictures, Mike, but I'd really like to hear more about your emotions, bandanas, and where you learned those snazzy dance moves.
  9. **NORDIC WALKERS ARE GOOD PEOPLE TOO, DAMN IT!** Ask Dru, I'm Nordic Walker:
  10. While I think you're making a fine point, I question these three assertions. -I bet there are (or will be) nordic-walking smokers who smoke cigarettes and leave their butts everywhere, just like some climbers! -I can easily imagine a nordic walker getting lost, getting injured, et c... it's bound to happen. -I won't even address the last point.
  11. Thanks for the info, Mark. I was also curious about that. I had heard he was soloing.
  12. It was cool watching that guy who had just led Iron Horse free crank right through the roof. Index is always fun. Gary and Chuck: that level of beta is sick and wrong.
  13. WTF?!

I hope to fare well today and get off these interwebs...

Click 'read more.' Maybe he's trolling? I hope so. It sounds like you except [sic, sic, sic] the explanation, so how did the film change anything?
  16. Just wait a few decades until the computers get REALLY GREAT.
  17. In English, please?
  18. Not sure what you mean by loop quantum gravity, so, er, umm... YES.
  19. The Higgs boson is part of the Standard Model^{TM} and we hope to observe it soon. The Higgs gives paricles their masses. The graviton interacts with massive particles. It's gravity's equivalent to the photon in electrodynamics. But the photon is part of the Standard Model^{TM} Lagrangian, whereas there is no simple Lagrangian that includes the graviton. There is no quantum theory of gravity, yet. String theory might provide a quantum theory of gravity some day. In short, the Higgs generates masses (causes things to have mass), whereas the graviton mediates interactions between massive objects.
  20. Who wants to meet on Schultzy's back porch for prefunk at 5? "The Drinkers", Van Gogh, 1890; snapped it at AIC yesterday.
  21. The detachment picture is what I wanted to see. Congratulations on both your recovery and escaping the east!
  22. Well, I'm sure glad I already skied those peaks. 1-800-skykilo
  23. Where'd they go?
  24. I'm not humiliated, so if that's the point, then it didn't work. That gif just makes me want to ski some POWDER!
