Everyone should boycott climbing at Smith Rocks. In fact, I'll let you know when I'm headed out to climb there and you can have it that weekend. I love having the place to myself.

Yup! There should be a good group of us this week.

I did the South Buttress and rappeled that route. There are slings on a small bush near the end of the sandy gully on the south side between the false summit humps. I believe we did something like 6-8 rappels down to the basin on the south side with slings every rope length. I remember two ropes being ideal.

Probably changing it up to Thursday this week since the wedder may not cooperate. Is anyone else game for Thursday this week?

I think Bonatti should be recognized (though he didn't summit) if just only for the reasons that he was shunned from European climbing for so long due to the lies surrounding the first ascent. Yeah K2! Yeah Walter Bonatti!

Pretty sweet trip! I love the enchantments, though after dragging my girlfriend up there with the ploy that "It's an easy little hike next to some spectacular lakes", I don't think I can convince her to go back up there. The pics are

Just this season I have been able to get my pack sub-30lbs. It makes a huge difference. Just keep thinking that the pain you have now, is training for later.
