Dude! It's pretty straight forward. It's only the first season I've been doing the Randonee thing and it has been really awesome. I will never use snowshoes again if I can help it, but I could see where if there was a lot of exposed brush, rocks, it could be pretty lame. I've been going out pretty consistantly for the last month and the only things that seem to give me problems is judging how steep of a slope I can skin up and doing kick turns without falling over. I've figured a good technique for the kick turns and have been learning about the different slopes and what is the maximum steepness they'll work on. I would think it would be very dependant on the thickness of the skin and ski though along with your weight for determining that maximum, so it is probably varies from person to person. Trying to get something together to go out this weekend and do an overnighter. We on for dry tooling this week?

So, headed up into the wind on Saturday for a few turns. It was a little windy, but nobody got blown away (maybe knocked off their feet but whatever ). It was a great trip and I really need to get better at skiing. Hollering at Yodelin

Sweet dude! I'm working on a bit of a trip report for Yodelin on Saturday. We had an awesome time despite the rather blustery winds.

I strongly suggest against participating in any activities on Monday the 13th. I mean it is Monday and it is the 13th, what more of a bad omen do you need to do nothing all day.

Thinking about heading into the area on 11-12 to see what's happening. Been itching for a few swings of the tools, so it'll have to be pretty high up for that.

Sorry I couldn't make it, unfortunately I was doing battle with a bird who found it's way into my living room. I think one of my pet 's must have dragged it into the house to play with only to discover that the little sucker could fly. It sounded like another great Pub Club.

I was thinking about going up Saturday, but it's looking like Sunday is going to be the better weather day. The freezing level is supposed to jump up to 3500-4500 over Friday and Saturday and then drop to 1500 on Sunday. The colder the better.
