FW does make good points. I must say, hwoever, that it is kind of nice seeing a less used trail get some maintenance. Normally it's just the standard highways that get the attention.

they had some issue with the 9V battery Apparently things were going well until somebody pissed themselves during trials and burnt their genitals off and the tent down.

That huge rock gully? I don't think it's steep enough to warrant a scary name. The micro-gullies on the SE, now those might be something in the winter... I'd disagree Justin...standard procedure is to ski/climb/etc. something and if it dosn't have a trip report on cc.com it MUST be the first ascent/descent/etc.!!! In that case you get to give it a scary name.

one is a regulated (?) political ad, the other is a movie. I gotta say, the "swift boat vets" for bush thing is pretty low. I think it's pretty lousy that guys who didn't even serve with him are critisizing him.

I have not climbed PC but I also question the need for a topo. It's a waterfall. Climb up it. the pro is ice screws. The exact conditions will change so no topo is perfect.

I have the WM highlite. I love it. The nylon they use seems to be lighter than anything I have seen. I dont have an durability complaints but I take good care of my stuff. I have found it surprisingly warm. THere are also half bags but I dont find them super appealing. There are plenty of summer climbs where you would have no use for a down coat but still want your shoulders covered for sleeping.

ha! Great to figure out what "those two guys" were over there doing. After yarding I remember thinking "well, they look lost too" The worse thing about that fall is grabbed the rope. I have never done that before and it fucking sucked. I got a bad rope burn on both hands. And your suspicion was correct. The pendelum plus about 20 feet of rope stretch left me in a worse situation, tired and mentally owned. I too hate guye peak. Of course i'll be back soon enough to do that stupid thing correctly. There is no excuse for such a piss poor performance

Who said we owe them anything? The point is people WITHIN OUR COUNTRY want an outside observing presence. Once again Lars demonstrates his inability to grasp a simple subject.

a ski bunny is where it's at. chicks in harnesses and spandex ain't my thang, unless they are leather harnesses.

yeah, it wont be missed. it is kind of sad tho as it looks badass. I just cant believe it looks so tiny compared to only a few years ago.
-
I was trying to decide that, but I am pretty sure I haven't yet. I have made the partner carry a tent before, does that count?
-
chris columbus too. I suppose I do get lost and end up in the wrong place sometimes too.

whatever tool.

Has anybody else noticed that this thing is considerably smaller than even 3 years ago?? It puts glacier recession in an entirely new category. The permanent snowfield/glacier thing at the base of CJ is smaller too. Finally, the CJ coulior is snowless for a huge section in the middle. I dont remember ever seeing this either. It sucks.

lance, vegas is terrible, but hell is actually phoenix, AZ. It may be the only place on earth worse, and not even for the heat! However, if you like crime, heat, and ugly terrain, phoenix is the place! I am dissapointed that I will be in CO for sept, which is the nicest month here, IMHO.
-
...the heat? I love sun as much as everybody else. but the heat is pretty miserable around the house, and just terrible for long, tiring approaches.

If I go back, I'll definitely do that. When confronted with the decision it was hard to deny that the direct "variation" looked like the obvious natural line. A traverse around something always seems like a blemish, but, hey, whatever, you are right...that is the whole point of that route.

Nice job guys! Seriously, Tom, I hardly recognized you without the beard!
-
WOw, that is very cool. Some day I will tackle something like that.

I have a vintage Sherman tank. Unforunately the cannon is currently busted, but it still rides good. Should I pick you up in Chilliwack?
-
Yup, that's what I was guessing. I'll keep this in mind and avoid getting hurt anywhere but low elevation areas on cold days in the winter.
