  1. Hmm, i'd disagree that bud is "good" beer, but then again beer preference is pretty personal. I find it amusing that they advertise it being brewed from rice because it's a taste people love. Ironically, rice is the cheapest grain you can get.
  2. The assist!!...and the score!

    Lance ...

Pretty amazing if you can imagine how fast they get moving downhill on some of those mountain stages. I think I'd be scared to go that fast on a 1cm tire without a helmet!
  4. Dustin, take a gander at the kennedy glacier route. As somebody posted here a while ago, it's a wonder not many more people climb that instead of frostbite ridge. It looked very scenic. That isn't to say frostbite ridge lacks the scenery, but it might be a cool change of pace.
  5. whatever Chuck. Sorry, *****MY***** idea of climbing is not hiking on an overgrown and unmaintaine forest logging road. Sorry if yours is or if I caused you any undue agitation with my post.
  6. Ohhh...that one on the far left is hot!
  7. In any event, it would seem to me that taking the lift up the south side of hood, which is a whopping 11k foot peak , is different than taking a lift to 13k on an 18.5k foot mountain. My guess is unless you are aclimated, climbing for 13k to 18.5k is going to be a lot more difficult than climbing hood from timberline several times in a row. So, I doubt that answers your question, but that's my opinion.
  8. Yeah, who the fuck cares. The point of cilmbing is not walking on an old overgrown road/flat trail. If the bike can be used, I see no reason why not to use it. I also have a personal rule, that while against NFS policy, I frankly don't care: If the trail allows horses, than you can take your bike on it. The fucking horses cause way more damage than a bike ever will, and a person on a bike doesn't piss and shit all over the trail.
  9. I have the NG Topo software and don't find it all that buggy. I use it to print out maps and love it for that. I dont use the GPS features and the like. Ocassionally I'll use the route tool to estimate distance and elevation gain.
  10. harness? bowline on a coil or sling harness
  11. Is that first few flat miles outside of the park or would you have to worry about the tool busting you?

  13. geek I hope you realize your targeting about 80% of this board when you say that. Joshk, When "you are" is presented as a contraction it is spelled "you're". Not "your". I'm not trying to be the spelling police here, just trying to illustrate my point and counter the idiotic cartoon. Yes, I realize that, and if you are into nit-picking, I'll point out that the misuse of "your" and "you're" is not a spelling error, but a gramatical error. In any event, if you really think that the extent of Bush's stupidity is a few misspellings and mispronounciations then you should really open your eyes a bit.
  14. I don't what the deal is, but the misquitos seem to be worse than I've ever seen them in the stuart range area, and worse there than anywhere else this year. It's fucking ridiculous.
  15. Glad to here that it's cool. I wanted to do it but encountered much gaperage on the route (like 3 other parties?) when I was there, so had to settle for climbing something else.
  16. Erik, Forest Service is Dept of Agriculture, while NPS is Dept of Interior. I have worked for both in the past, too. Unless you've been on that side of the fence, shut up. Alex, sticking mearly to the point that most people would rather *not* be harassed in the wilderness, I would agree that the last thing I want is some ranger, irregardless of which branch of government he is employed by, bugging me. The point is to get away from people, not to be sought out and questioned.

  18. Since when I have been a bad speller, assbag? I also didn't realize they hire "mental lightweights" to be engineers, but I suppose you would know better than I. I laugh at how you point to Bushy's MBA and Yale as evidence of intelligence. You really think his intelligence had anything to do with his acceptance into Yale? I have some oceanfront in Arizona to sell you if you believe that. But I suppose the fact that he was a dumb frat boy, not to mention a cokehead are fabricated liberal lies, huh? Try pulling your head out of your ass sometime, pal.
  19. Nice work Lee & Tom!
