  6. I think there was a very small printing first run, since only a few of us got copies. Kind of sucks, since so many people are trying to get that book. Keep at it and I'm sure more will be coming. It's worth the effort.
  7. I haven't had a problem with them either, just hear people saying not to be jump turning or driving hard in them and stuff. I have not had a problem, but then again I'm not routinely jumpturning steep icy chutes either.
  8. this thread has potential
  9. I can definitely say my hands are much more sensitive to cold after freezing them so many times. I have to conciously shake them throughout the day. It's particularly bad when skinning up stuff, since my hands are above my heart I guess
  10. Check out this guy's quiver! Atomic R:ex Tua Mito Karhu XCD waxless
  11. I can see the feeling of satisfaction one would get from doing that in a day. Also there is much less bushwacking than any of the guides suggest. It is all on trail until you drop towards the impasse...as long as you know where the trail is...
  12. I have seen some major epics with people trying to get their dynafit bindings engaged on steep ice. They did not have a ton of experience with them, so maybe this is an aquired skill. This was after the binding released while traversing the ice. Step-in AT bindings (fritschis, etc) in general can be tough to get into on really steep icy slopes, unless you can dig in just a bit so you can smash your feet into them. You can just place your feet in fritschis, but you have to muscle the heel lever to lock them in. I see this as a big advantage of tele bindings, or silvretta 500s (though I would not think 500s very good for what you are doing, who knows?)
  13. if you were getting sabertooths would people get the step-in thing or the plastic clip in front? do both hold equally well w/o shifting, etc? I would think the clip more versatile for supergaiters etc.
  14. it has been done for sure.

  24. Heh, I just realized my right thumb is still pretty numb. I though it was just calloused from the gym and smith, etc. but shred's comments make me think otherwise. I didn't even think my hands were getting that cold. hope this goes away.
