Damn if the skis can run away, I better not try that for my winter sport
-
I agree that lynn hill is not that hot, but she is more than a relitivly good climber too. she is amazing. I am a suck shit climber, but at least I look cute doing it thelawgoddess climbs way harder than me and is a PYT as well
-
quit doggin' climber chicks
-
I said it wasn't a bad thing All I am trying to say is that there are girls out there that climb relitvly hard that are pretty and as nice to look at as any surfer girls. Sheesh, I have to stick up for my own kind
-
Despite the chill in the air, school, soccer practice and the changing of the leaves I am firmly in denial. WINTER IS NOT COMMING! SO THERE (I obviously need to take up somekind of winter sport)
-
Yeah I know where you are from, and what you used to do just pointing out for the others that surfer girls, hell girls that swim alot have BIG shoulders, not that that is a bad thing now skater girls have some fine legs, that is if you can get past all the road rash sk8 betty sk
-
HA! shows that you arn't climbing with the right girls surfer girls have even broader shoulders than rockclimbers, if they realy surf that is. PAddeling that log board out into the ocean is way hard work. Betty's don't count, they just sit on the beach and tan
-
That is realy a wonderful idea.

considering you missed my b-day in july, I think you ought to send me one but for the cause of unity in the climbing comunity (ooooh look, comunity has unity in it ) I will send you a dollar sk

People don't choose to be devistatingly debilitatingly ill. But it does happen. there are people who fall threw the cracks. that are unable to work because of a medical condition, yet they do not qualify for assistance or disability. So they are poor and remain poor and often can not get the medical care they need to correct the situation. I hope you are right fence sitter, that you are lucky enough to never be seriously injured or ill. That you never have to suffer the humility that is poverty. p.s. I am not talking about addiction. although cronic pain can and often does lead to drug abuse and addiction.

7 years ago I was an assistant manager for a franchise fast food place. I woked 30 hours a week. I was making 5.25$ an hour. My manager who worked almost 70 hours a week made about 16,000 a year. We were in a suck shit situation for a bad company, but at the time those were the jobs available. we were POOR! I quit and had kids. No one pays me to take care of my babys. she quit and got an entry level job for a major corp. and is now very well off and in middle managment. So it is about choices. We talk often about who made the correct choice and I guess we each made the best choice for ourselves. But I am telling you I work hard. harder than she does, cause she tired to be me for a week when I had surgery.

I'm no surfer (yet) but I would be willing to bet there are more breaks in Alaska
-
Surf in alaska. There are great breaks that you have to realy work to get too. keeps the crowds at bay... if you think about it, alaska combines what is best in both climbing and surfing... tooo bad it is soo cold [ 09-09-2002, 10:11 AM: Message edited by: sk ]

from where I sit 50,000$ a year IS rich. I am not an expert, all I know is that durring the 80's I saw a tramendous amount of RESESSION going on. sure by the mid 90's things were "bull market" again, but here in oregon there were too many adults working minimum wadge jobs so as a teen it was difficult to find work. I don't remember alot of giving going on in the 80's. I remember people spending on credit and the poor getting poorer. prices getting astranomicly higher and wadges Not keeping up. for instance, in 1978 my parents bought a 3 bedroom house for roughly 60,000$ that same house sold in the late 90's for 150,000$. explain it to me greg, cause I realy want to know why economicly it is LIKE this. I love this happy monday!

Handouts do not work (not in the U.S., anyway). People need to EARN a living and invest in themselves. WHy should I GIVE my hard-earned money to some shmoe sitting on his ass? That is highly offensive to me. Peace, Dru. Greg W I don't think hand outs work either. but there do need to be GOOD FAMILY WADGE JOBS available for people so that they are able to earn enough to LIVE not just survive.
-
I have to agree with dru here. trickle down economics is a load of crap. And being that I am the working poor, I can garentee that saving is joke, and all of our income ends up back in cerculation. I don't hate the rich (envey maybe) but I don't think that giving the rich more money more tax breaks will help me in any way. there are some exceptions. There are people that donate to worthy causes and pay there taxes with out complaint. but for example if you own a house you get a tax break, if you are too pooor too purchase a house you can not benafit from that tax break. what I am most sad about is the dissapearance of the middle class. the fewer family wadge jobs there are the wider the divide between the rich and the poor.wich causes unrest and riots and strife. Look arround and you will see that I am correct. When the rich get so much richer and the poor are getting poorer the most poor revolt and become dissaffected.

I have a hard time hearing in certin places because of the angle of the rock(or maybe I just can't hear ) etc. At times it is difficult and JK and I have talked about a rope tug system. thanks for the topic and the ideas. [ 09-09-2002, 08:37 AM: Message edited by: sk ]
