please don't tell my wife - i'm still dealing w/ bucketloads of shit b/c of the last chick who said such things and now one from memory... well i fell into prison about a quarter to three and found in my cell a glass waiting for me so i filled what was empty and i pulled up a stool but he stood in the corner the old devil he didn't move he said you drink when you're lonely sure i drink when i want! he said you'll never be sober sure why would i want that? i only drink to be merry but unfortunately i'm in the wrong prison cell and the wrong company! I am not a mountaineer but i do like to climb cracks A LOT!!! spend sime time practicing on single pitch crack climbs to get the feel for the tecnique. that will help toughen you hands and skin up. I have climbed cracks with may begininers and they all complain about the same things. thier feet hurt and thier skin rips up. even easy cracks are a world of difference from climbing in the gym. It is a totaly different style of climbing that requires you to be able to find the useable flaws in the rock, as well as being able to cam parts of your body into the rock. to climb cracks well you need to be willing to put your hand(and or foot) in a crack, make a fist and accept that if you fall it is your skin and muscle that is keeping you from falling. in the past i have been against taping because it seemed to me that if you had good tecnqhe then you didn't need to tape. however after some cajoling i finaly did tape my hands when climbing harder cracks and i was able to get up on some more dificult climbs. make sure you check out lots of different kinds of crack. you want to be comfortable climbing thin fingers to chimny (i would imagine)

Bug, I agree with some of what you are saying but this is a little bit overstated in my opinion. Certainly there are lots of groups that have been subject to that kind of disrespect on cc.com, whether it is fat people, gays, police, or members of the Mountaineers. Yes, there are lot of vociferous posters around here who tend to be intolerant of any discussion of religion and maybe the moderators don't intervene in the manner that you think they should. But in my opinion the Mt. Hood and Denali partners threads became unsightly mostly because some folks go a little too far with the idea that cc.com is their own personal playground -- to the point that "outsiders" are unwelcome at times. I don't think this treatment is exclusively reserved for Christians. It is what it is, though, and that sense of familiarity we have with each other is sometimes part of the charm of this place. we are not prejudiced we fuck with everyone to me posting on cc.com is more like sitting in a bar. if someone wants to stand up and proclaim themselves part of any particulare "group" or ideaoligy, then we have to be willing to listen to how other people disagree with us. if you don't want to have the conversation or defend what you think or believe don't post here. I don't think most people question out of malice as much as they question out of curiosity. if people don't want to comunicate about ideas there is no need for this BBS the forum, the internet or other people for that matter.
