I knew someone would take mikeadam's post out of context. Defense and Intelligence agencies have to be involved in a certain amount of information gathering; it's a fact of life. I don't feel too great about the TIA, but I also understand the concept and necessity behind it. As yet, I don't see that my Constitutionally-protected rights are being violated. Maybe you guys need to give me some more proof.

Good point RobBob, it seems that the learning process is shortcutting past the theory behind the math, calculus, differential equations, and physics formulae that are applied in engineering and design. That, to me, spells trouble. The best thing we did in school was learn it the long way and then see how the shortcut made things simpler. If the theories are not learned then there is no historical understanding to the concept and therefore no new advances can be made on the concept because all that is known is the end formula.

Tricky - All rights are interrelated: The Second Amendment is the guarantee of the 1st, 4th, and all the other Amendments. Who do you think would be Chuck Schumer's prime target is he could do away with the 4th Amendment? Gun Owners & 2nd Amendment Activists. I agree with what mikeadam said that if you aren't doing anything wrong, you don't have anything to worry about - to a degree. In light of what Trask was discussing (TIA, etc.), I agree that this is a tactical tool for gathering information on potential enemy activity. That is my understanding of what TIA is for. Granted, individuals such as the Clintons, Schumers, Cuomos, etc. might try and use such a department as a political tool; hopefully safeguards against this will be in-place. Don't worry, when they knock on my door and try and violate my rights, as protected by the 2nd Amendment, I will be the first to invoke my 1st, 2nd, 4th, & 5th Amendments. Here's a good quote that I read the other day: "If we replace vigorous but restrained debate with hate speech, how long will it be before our nation comes apart at the seams? ...We are held together by our shared ideas and ideals. Hate-filled controversy, vicious name-calling, and rabid partisanship are incompatible with the survival of America as a free nation." --Dr. David C. Stolinsky Have a nice day. Greg W

I think he may have been addressing me; I said earlier that I was still working to break into double digits. Practiced falling on gear over the holiday!!

What did I say? All I did was pass on that the debate about the reading of Miranda rights has been under debate. I didn't say whether I agreed with it or not. I think it is stupid to have a case thrown out because some slimeball was "properly" read his rights! It is our responsibility to know what OUR rights are. Don't worry, Muff, I haven't changed.

The reading of "Miranda Rights" has been under scrutiny and debate for some time, not just under George W.'s watch.

Interesting topic Kevin. I have wondered what it takes to move into that next level; I am still trying to break into double-digit leads myself. Here's another question: At what point can you no longer compensate for lack-of-technique with muscle? Maybe that isn't a set line for everyone.

That's okay, I still have the Chris Sharma inspirational coffee mug set that you sent last year. It's still in the box; maybe I could sell it in the "Yard Sale" forum

Nice knowin' ya, DFA. Based on your post, you'll probably be receiving a full body cavity search shortly and enjoying some state-sponsored accomodations. May I be the first to say, on this new board, that DFA is a prick...and Dan Larson Sux!!

Here's your medal, Daniel. Good job!!! I walked the 1/2 with my wife. I never saw the winning time, but I saw the guy breeze by.

It was empty on Friday as well; saw a few souls from afar. I did notice that the bar across from the park right in town is now for sale. Anybody know what happened?

Walk the Seattle Half-Marathon and carry a fanny pack. The entry fee goes to charity and you get a cool shirt. Starting at about Mile 4 there was booty lining the route. At mile 6 they were passing out PowerGel; the wife and I scored a few, but the best part was all the PowerGels that people were dropping on the ground. I crossed the finish line with about 10 and could have gotten more! Next year I'm carrying a fanny pack and I'll be set for the season!! Greg W

I go to office parties at other companies (usually large ones); the chics always want to give it up to the mailroom guy

Just out of curiousity, Iain, what do you do for ? I have heard that there are alternatives out there, but are they any good?

Thanks Mike, but take my advice and leave Dr. Flash Amazing off your list. He is a vile stain upon society that feeds off the bile of humanity. Imagine, if you will, a combination of the Emperor from Return of the Jedi, Jabba the Hut, Janet Reno, and Roseanne Barr, and you will see 1/10 of the sickness that is Dr. Flash Amazing. Happy Thanksgiving back at ya, Mike. Greg W
