  1. bought 'em used...ergo no instructions. looked simple enough. insert douglas adams quote here. what i lack in intelligence i make up in charm
  2. ja, the award goes to rob...too much blaz'n. at the time i had totally skullfucked myself and thought i was overanalyzing it. it's easy to not notice the interior loop inside the main loop, especially when dangling from the first bolt of the ladder on monkey face...after i posted the note i used enforced sobriety to discover the fukup...still, an easy mistake to make.
  3. no more dangerous than playing piggie down by the river though, eh? shit rob, i find your new avatar persona intensely terrifying...might have somethign to do w/ having confronted a well armed dude like that in the appalachians. luckily my friend had a bow & arrow...
  4. lazy...shit, i finally bothered to look back and check this thread. so i suppose rangers are people, though i haven't seen one bleed to be certain no worries on rangers not being around at paradise, really...i usually reckon that means i can climb for free, so i suppose i prefer it
  5. i dunno...i remember reading about at least one guy who survived the slide all the way down onto the eliiot no joke about the helmet though...the lower spur shows ample evidence of stone-fall...only really annoying on the way down.
  6. went y-day...gotta appease the wife now. who you going with?
  7. actually i was just gonna nail classic crack i was looking for an accomplice cuz mike was studying ...i figure no one will be around to if it's pouring to all the amateur meteorologists out there!
  8. round 330? bueler? bueler?
  9. good luck finding someone...don't be afraid to solo this route (you'll see a few threads here about this) as it is most sublime to do alone
  10. my legs are just long enough to touch the ground though... actually i think pete would make the best intimadator.
  11. grooooovy
  12. bummer, after watching "the punisher" 37 times after a rather over-done speed-frenzy, i was hoping for some real-life vigilante justice...mighta even taken a day off work just to drive up there to watch some poor pudfucker get his on behalf of all the pudfuckers in the world. but alas...
  13. jesus christ, is that your shit or what? if so, call up the posse...
  14. rather than do the work meself cuz i'm a freeloader: is the ranger station at paradise peopled yet? and is the road to paradise being left open at night now or still being closed? if so when usually closing and reopening?
  15. nah, it just made him really short...shit, mike, maybe you already discovered it?
  16. really, no ? how sad, you really do need a home, and someone to explain the benefits of a righteously twisted mind ...good luck
  17. rock fall is a good thing to be worried about there...i ain't the only one who's been plunked by crap falling from way up high on the route
  18. big battery and weight difference though...the iPod just ain't practical for long alpine outings, unless they've come up w/ a better battery design
  19. where's the ranger station? in l-worth?
  20. what's a boy gotta do to get a permit to stay around colchuck lake for a week or so? i don't usually play by the rules but as i'm thinking of being in the area for an extended time i might be persuaded...do i have a prayer for getting a permit for that lenght of time, just over a month from now?
  21. leaning in on a randy johnson fastball would def be ill advised...standing up in front of emmitt smith about the same
  22. poor todd, dwindling to obscurity in harry-carry land...
  23. Agreed, but nw clibmers probably have the same shit happen to them when they climb in alaska, nepal, bolivia, etc., etc.
  24. will they do an autosopy to determine the exact cause of death? i guess there was no choice about airlifting him out, but if he died due to the extractation, that's certainly aggravating to the rescuers who had to make the call. easy to see why medics are so anal about backboards when dealing w/ suspected spinal injuries.
  25. don't climb stuart...stuart's dangerous, and scary, and really, really crowded. yeah, don't go there...
