    No Trip TR

It's ice cream, you dolt! And I doubt it's anything life-threatening...it's not totally dialed in yet from getting the new motor....still working out the tuning and whatnot. Anyway, it's only got 175K on it, and I'm bound and determined to wring every last mile out of this car!!
  2. Dave, you are going to catch cold standing around in your Freudian Slip this time of year, now put your coat on! The rest of this motley crue does in fact meEt for beer every Tuesday, and it's generally a more congenial scene than the board might suggest.

Friday: Valentine's Day. Saturday: Drive to the lovely community of Yacolt, WA. Discover Soobie is blowing oil at rate of 1Q/150 miles. Read book about granite whilst looking out window at E Fk of Lewis River. Sunday:Drive to PDX for case of motor oil. Limp Soobie back to Seattle. Work until 5AM. Monday: Laundry, hot soup, and a visit from my mechanic, who is now trying to figure out .
  4. Green sling and a couple of biners, in the shrub to the left of the anchors at the top of the first pitch of Magic Bus, 3:00 Rock, Darrington. July or August. Maybe a red sling too.
  5. Ditto the Federal Building in downtown Seattle.

    Lady in need

    Ditto.
  7. Dude, anyone who can afford a mountain bike, can afford to get insurance. I have 12K worth of coverage on my renter's, and it is less than 20 clams a month. PS. Sorry about your bike.

    Girl Stuff

Sorry, Battle Cage action is reserved for actual women, not the Trish Foxes of the world.

Listen, if you were real, Tim wouldn't be asking you to moderate anything on your first day. And if he wanted to see what the women of the board wanted, he would ask us. The actual ones. All ten of us. Nice troll.
  10. Don, I'm afraid I have grown frustrated with you for some of the same reasons stated above. The words sanctimonious, condescending, and pedantic all come to my mind. When I have tried to discuss the bolting issue with you, most recently via PM, I was shut down with anger and hostility, and then later accused of same. On that particular issue (which personally is not a huge deal to me FWIW), you get so hot under the collar that you can't be rational, despite admitting that you do in fact USE bolts from time to time. I think you are a very smart guy, and I (mostly) enjoy your contributions to the board....but get off your high horse and play in the sanbox with the rest of us, willya? We're not your stoodents!! P.s.
  11. By far, and whatever the shape, the best thing about Omega Pacific 'biners is where they are made...in PRISONS!
  12. Huh? Who said anything about driving? And anyhow, dope or no, I ALWAYS wear a helmet driving. Isn't it required by law?
  13. Toost, you are a genius! I see cheap hubs at pczone.com, but the long cable idea is delicious. And BTW, DFA, I'm not lazy, I have been on #@%%&!!! Vicodin on and off for a week now for a %$^&!!!! back injury, haven't been able to work (OR SKI), and have no energy. If I am lazy, blame the narcotics. It was nice to be on the stuff for about 2 hours on the first day, and now it's poky scrambled eggs brain. I especially don't like crawling under my desk with this back thing!
  14. Just back from Office Despot....looked at USB hubs...for 40 clams, I'll keep crawling under my desk to change the cords out!
  15. No, that's Rodeo. My BF was there briefly, I doubt matt would have snapped one of him as he is smart enough not to post or lurk here. But, hey, don't laugh, Rodeo's a swell guy, worthy of some lucky lady's affections!
  16. Well at least I'm properly saluting you!
  17. Matt, you are one cruel guy....gawd I hope you didn't take any of me......and chucK alaways looks Satanic...Tread Tramp on the other hand... ...and all I can say is that it looks like all of these pix were taken after one of the legendary PC safety meetings.
  18. That's Von Spanker with the famous old guy.
  19. Yah, OK USB, got that part..now can you run more than one device at a time out of it or is that bad? Forgive me for the dumb questions, computers are a great mystery to me.
  20. Got a ? for you....is it possible/kosher to put a splitter on the computer output that my digicam cable/scanner/wireless mouse and keyboard go out of? I have two outputs on the back of my computer, but own three devices that need to get in there. I don't know what kind of port that is, it's got a wee small connector. If it matters, I'm on a fairly new PC, running XP. If this is possible and won't cause me problems, promise not to run the scanner and the camera at the same time, those are the ones that would share the splitter. Thx.
  21. The old guy in the red? With all of the slides? I think he did some climbing book or something. There were so many people and a lot of them were new faces, I wonder if we could put together a list of who was there. Didnd't get a chance to meet everyone...but off the top of my nog, here's what I know: Sayjay, Klenke, Dave Schuldt, Von Spanker, myself, chucK, Rodeo, Fred Beckey, Cap'n Caveman, mattp, toast, Charlie, Wayne1112, ehmmic, Icegurl, Alpine K, Jeff Hansel, Reese, TTT, fleblebleb, Tread Tramp I know I'm forgetting some, and there are some I don't know! Help me out here! One mo' thing: I'm a little more amenable to having PC at a non-smoking place from time to time now that I am in that club....just PLEEZE let's find a place that is not a stupid fern bar. It was a fun time last night but when the Caveman and his friends lit up right across the table from me, Rodeo had to give me his cell phone to chew on. It was the closest I've been to actual cigarette smoke in a while now.
  22. Yep, and Bill has exactly described the MEC Helios here. I actually got the Cabrio, a little bit heavier, right at one pound with hood, despite being a lightweight freak, because I am one of those people who, er, enjoys, um, bushwhacking. My stuff sees abrasion abuse. Talk more about windshells that repel water a little bit. All I have in this category is going to need to be replaced this year I think.
  23. It's hard to see what kind of a piece you are after, comparing your Goretex to a little shell thingy like that. If it's light foul-weather stuff you are after, the MEC Helios might do the trick. If it's for lighter weather, there is a lot out there that is not made by Patagucci, and will thereby be cheaper. The Marmot Precip's a nice piece, and REI's got some decent shell pieces in their line.
  24. Jayzuz H, ChucK....glad you are okay and assume that you learned requisite lessons....I get out alone a lot in the summer, and it's situations like these that make me wonder if I've left my sanity at the door sometimes. Whew, got the hibbie jibbies just reading the report! Maybe your wife and Stef's wife could start a support group.
  25. Poop, now that Kurt's invited himself into the battle cage, I feel the need to bow out. He and I have agreed to refrain from taking shots at one another, and if any more is said, it could get, well, not so funny. I'm sure TLG and I will go at it in a nearby forum soon. Until then, stock up on the Bud, and the lawn chairs...and of course...DON'T FORGET YOUR HELMET!
