  1. I sprained my right ankle really really bad (falling off a horse at a horse show no less, did the second half of the program in on boot and one tennis shoe) I was gimped up for like 5 months (it was in HS) even though kids are supposed to hear real fast. 15 years later, it is fine, though it is still a little more crackly than the other. No pain, or instability. Of coures it would be on the same side as my tibial plateau fx. Now THAT was pain. Nothing quite like bone pain. I don't recommend it
  2. I emailed them, but the contact addy bounces.
  3. Girls rarely consider it a date, unless stated ahead of time "gee, wanna go see a movie after we get done climbing?" Guys apparently do. This causes confusion. I've only ever had one guy worried that _I_ thougth it was a date. Guys, I'll give ya a tip... Don't lean in when she offers you a friendly hug goodbye, it's a girl thing, we give hugs, but that doesn mean we want to give you a kiss as well. If we want to, please let us do the leaning. Nothing looses style point faster than an unexpected/unwanted liplock. Argh! To answer the "have you introduced any guy to climbing" Yes. 3. climbing ice, 2. I introduced a lot of guys to scuba diving back in the day, but that doesn't really count cause I was an instructor... Cept for one, introduced him to my crazy deep shipwreck diving which is kind of equvalent to ice climbing.
  4. Wednesday, July 14th 3PM at the park-n-ride 3:30ish at the trailhead Remember, this is for all you newbie girls, basic skills are all that will be needed (how to get into your harness, shoes, tie in, belay) We will be doing all the rope set up (leading, anchors, etc) and take down. You will not be judged on your knowledge or ability. We are not going to require you to pass any tests. On this first go round, consider it like a Stone Gardens climbing party. Unless you want to do more (or have the skillset to do more) all you are gonna do is climb Bring: climbing shoes, harness, chalkbag, water munchies, helmet would be nice, comfey shoes to do the short hike up in. Mosq repellent Some warmer clothes, as the sun goes down rather quick when it goes down there.

  10. It is not a troll, it is not spray, there are now at least 4 or 5 people planning on being there, and we are already trying to plan future ones... It is a for newbie climbers, I thought it was appropriate for that forum. If moderators feel it was innapropirate, they should PM me, or just move it to spray. Thanks.
  11. heck, maybe he just want's your beta, so he can go climb it (or the route next to it that you were checking out while climbing it) In my limited experience, beta is nice to have... I have found many a fantastic ice climbs by people telling me to park at a certain mile maker, and then hike towards "the black notch in the rock" or what have you, and damn, whadda ya know... there is some ice nestled back in them there hills, that I never would have found without someone giving me a tip or two (a sketch on a napkin of a diner works well)

  21. well, I don't solo rock, so this does not quite work for me, but I do make a point of meeting them oat exit 38 or the gym if I can't get any info on them... Case in point, my crazy kiwi friend... He said he was a .10 climber, but had been out of it for a while... Got out to Exit 38, he's more like an .11+ .12 sporto climber off the couch.... He was someone I met at work though, so i had nothing to go on.
  22. I'm with pandora on this one... Currently all my climbing parnters have come about by way of this site. Ice, rock and alpine. They have all been stars! (not sure they will say the same for of me I have never had any problems with cc.com'ers, I attribute this partially to pub club and climbers picnics (we meet in person), and also that the washington climbing community is rather small, pretty much every is known of or about or someone who knows someone personally on the site, so you can pre-check you partners if you really want to, and if you don't want to do it publically, you can always PM one of the other women on the site and I'm sure any of us would help out... Speaking of which, Pandora, was I right about cascadeclimber? internet DATING? Oh my...
  23. Damn! I posted it as you were at 19,999...
