  1. So since Popeye says "I yam what I yam", there's no gap and so he's both hip and cool.

    hey fatty

How long has it been since you could see your balls without a mirror?
  4. Schoeller's made a stretch wp/b fabric with a membrane (WB-400) for a couple years now. The Mammut Castor was the first I remember to be marketed as "waterproof softshell". Now it sounds like Malden Mills is playing catch up.
  5. coolness comes and coolness goes (witness thick-framed eyeglasses) but the eternity of zen is like the perception of time by a photon. a photon is given off by a distant sun, travels for a billion years to earth, and impinges on your retina, but to the photon, the creation, journey, and arrival occur simultaneously.

  7. When Jeff Bridges played Jeff Lebowski, he wore clothes from his own wardrobe.
  8. Anyone who is effortlessly cool is worthy of admiration. Anyone who attempts cool with effort, whether they succeed or fall short, is worthy only of ridicule.
  9. Situational. At Smith you could probably just get them to lie on a pile of dogs, puffy jackets and stickclips until help arrives.

  11. Fall off on TR, hit the ground? What then? Oh wait, I know... bolts!
  12. doubtful.
  13. I have 6 and they go on the first 6 screws placed, after that it's draws to the top. No lead falls on ice myself but I had a friend lob off onto his 3rd screw, about a 3m fall from about 15m up the 4+ at Moaning Tree Wall back in the mid-late 90s when both tools dinnerplated at once, and the screamer (made by On Sight in Squamish) ripped about 1/3 of the way down before catching him. If he had taken a longer fall or from lower down, no doubt the whole thing would have ripped instead of just a third of it.
  14. Maybe he just wants to get cholera.
  15. How are you gonna retrofit a hammer to one of these
  16. Whistler/Blackcomb is 55 km as the crow flies from the Duffy summit and the forecast temps there are essentially useless for predicting what's going on for Duffy ice. Not to mention that Whistler has 2 times the precipitation on average of the Duffy in terms of snowfall. The Duffy webcam http://images.drivebc.ca/bchighwaycam/pub/html/www/182.html is at the summit. Between that and the Lillooet temp gauge you can figure out much better what's going on at the ice areas.
  17. Saw this posted on squamishclimbing.com. Surprised no one has mentioned it here yet?
  18. See how long it stays warm. The cold temps in Lillooet last few days were just cold air trapped in the valley, it was +1 to +2 and raining at the Duffy Lake summit. If it cools down there, things should be good enough to climb on the Duffy this w/e.
  19. How long will you keep the skis on - take them off in May or keep them on through June?
  20. looks good to me!
  21. Theft is freedom.
  22. So if the mom is vaccinated against smallpox you claim the baby will be immune?
  23. don't be stupid. it's -10c in Cache Creek right now. http://text.weatheroffice.gc.ca/forecast/city_e.html?bc-55&unit=m&b_templatePrint=true the warm temps stopped at the cayoosh summit all day today, carpenter lake, lillooet, lytton and cache creek ere all staying cold - warm air aloft, cold trapped in the valley.
  24. it's -10 there now, supposed to hit +6 by noon tomorrow though
