It's like Marc said. You can drive to the turnoff from pavement and you will be skiing from there.
Also, once you cross Nesakwatch Creek and get onto the trail on old logging road leading up to the Memorial and Propellor Cairn, the snow is weighing down the alders and pushing them onto the road. We were up there a month ago to check conditions and gradually progressed from walking (and pushing alders out of the way) to ducking, to full on crawling through the snow before we gave up and turned around.
